The Buffalo Bills signed cornerback Terrence McGee to a four-year contract extension today, The Buffalo News has learned.
According to an NFL source, the deal is worth $27 million in new money. McGee was entering the final year of his previous contract and is due to make $3 million in base salary this season.
A fourth-round pick of the Bills in 2004, McGee has 16 interceptions in 90 career games.
Meanwhile, McGee is questionable for Buffalo's game against Tampa Bay after missing practice today because of back spasms.
He developed the spasms this morning after practicing all this week. If McGee can't play Sunday, Ashton Youboty would likely take his place.
Starting left defensive end Chris Kelsay practiced today for the second straight day and should be ready for the home opener. Kelsay bruised his knee in Buffalo's season-opening loss to New England, and missed Wednesday's practice.
Starting right defensive end Aaron Schobel returned today after sitting out Thursday's practice because of a sore back, and is also probable for Sunday's game.
