Blind bidding waivers problem (1 Viewer)

Our waivers have not been set up correctly.

we are in the Blind bidding part of the week, they cleared this morning. its was set up that you can bid money for a player and you can just make First come First serve moves.

so this is the problem.

2 teams did a FCFS waiver move before the Blind Bidding happened. now they knew that we were in the Blind bidding part of the week, but I did not set it correctly.

how should I handle this.

my thinking was that I will ask all the owners who wanted to bid on those players to email me there bids for those players, make the deadline for bids tonight at 9 PM. so I would reset the rosters for the two teams that got them for free and I would then give those players to the highest bidder.

and then fix the waiver so you can only do blind bidding during that time.

Sounds reasonable. For the future you will want to set up the fcfs waivers on the hosting site for a certain period, like Friday at 12 am until 5 mins before kickoff (or whatever).

Reverse the FCFS moves that were made and reset it the way it should have been. Good idea to redo the auction portion. Make it clear to everyone it was your mistake to set it that way, but regardless of how it is set only the auction is valid and next time they'll just lose the players and NOT be able to auction for them.

do you think I should add something like this?

in the future if something like this were to happen. team 1 and team 2 would not be eligible for those players as they should have realized that something is not right since they got players FCFS during the blind bidding period, and made a post about there discovery. then I would just look at the bids placed and award that player to the highest bidder.

I would add something, but maybe I'd word it more neutral and just say only the auction bids will be used, and any FCFS moves made will just be reversed and given to the auction winner or returned to the FA pool if nobody bid on them.

I'm in whitemonkeys league, I wanted to bid on the player but apparently I came on the free agent pickup section on MFL. I picked the player I wanted to drop and to pick up. Didn't even see a bid option I wanted.

I Figured if i entered I would get an error if my transaction was invalid. Since nothing happened, the waiver came through.

Now since everyones bids came in this morning, we all know what each owner bid on the player they wanted and who they wanted. Because of this error they are now more likely to have to overpay because of this. Even if we redo blind bidding again.

If it is in your rules of when the blind bidding period is, it is your fault for showing your hand by doing a fcfs pickup. Quit crying.

This is true, but nonetheless, the player you picked up still has to be done correctly. I wouldn't suggest redoing all blind bidding, just toss the two players in question back in the FA pool and run a quick blind bidding on those two guys. Not the greatest solution, but the only solution that can be done to get it fair. As mentioned above, unless you are a rook, you probably should have known better. But it is still the system/commish's fault, you should not be blamed, but a bidding does need to happen.

I think this is the best solution. :lmao:
