Mock Fifth Round

I'm keeping a running list of each team's picks that I'll be publishing when I get through all 256 picks, let me know if you want me to post your team's picks up to this point for discussion.

I like the Knox pick for the good guys. A lot.

Phillips.....I'm ambivalent about. I'm certain you've seen more of his games than I have though. I was hoping the'd have a shot at Joseph, or Frank Miller at DT, but at the end of round 5 I guess they could do a lot worse than Phillips.

Detroit -

1. Detroit - Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia

20. Detroit (from Dallas) - Eben Britton, OT, Arizona

33. Detroit - James Laurinaitis, LB, Ohio State

65. Detroit - Sean Smith, DB, Utah

82. Detroit (from Dallas) - Derrick Williams, WR, Penn State
I'm liking more and more how these mocks turn out with Stafford #1. I had been staunchly against taking a QB #1.Personally, however - I would like to see English over Laurinitis, and no way do I leave Sammie Lee Hill on the board to take a shaky hands receiver (Williams) on a gamble he can help my KR team.

The "Favorite Team" feature is very handy indeed and telling.

Gratuitous shot in a mock for a 5th round RB? C'mon Sig.

Will there be a cheap shot WR for the Steelers as well I assume? I'm guessing that must be Johnny Knox's MO, right?

Then again I guess with the mock having Andre Smith at #6 I shouldn't be too surprised I guess.

I love the idea that Wood slides to round 3 as the 2nd center off the board, but I'm not so sure that'll actually happen.

Anyhow, I'm just a bit disappointed that you departed from the more neutral style of entries like this:

"106. Cincinnati - Kevin Barnes, CB, Maryland - Cincinnati’s secondary is going in the right direction with young, aggressive talent at corner and safety, but more depth never hurts and Barnes can easily be justified as a BPA at this point in the draft."

or this

"98. Cincinnati (Compensatory) - Dorell Scott, DT, Clemson - Like the rest of the Clemson program, Scott disappointed in 2008, but he’s a quick 300+ pounder who will add more punch to the Bengals DL rotation."

Appreciate the hard work but :lmao: on the shot.

1.21: Knowshown Moreno (RB, GA): Fills a major need with possibly the best back in the draft

1.28: William Beatty (OT, UConn): Tons of upside, not sure if he'd start though, and they need someone who can start

2.52: Jared Cook (TE, South Carolina): As an offensive weapon he could be the best TE in the draft but could be a liability as a blocker

3.85: Austin Collie (WR, BYU): Andy Reid loves dem mormons

4.121: Antoine Caldwell (C/G, Bama)

5.141: Kai Maiava (LB, USC)

5.153: Captain Munnerlyn (CB, South Carolina)

5.157: Brandon Hughes (CB, OregonState)

5.159: CJ Spillman (s, Marshall)

I'm assuming that the Eagles are going to be trading at least one of those 5th rounders

I've honestly been waiting to see where people are saying Bernard Scott would fall. I think minus the character stuff this guy is a proven beast. It will be interesting to see how his career turns out. Hopefully he can keep his head out of his ####.

Im no ACU fan, and havent seen him play much, but something about him really intrigues me.

Anybody see him in Texas vs The Nation? He owned that game.

Good pick for the Panthers, Bloom. If there's one thing we need after free agency, it's offensive line depth. We literally have no-one but second year players Geoff Schwartz and Mackenzy Bernadeau behind our starting five. Vasquez is a player I really like.

'Looks like the 'Iggles' could do alright with those first 3 picks if those are the guys they end up with. I know McNabby would be satisfied to an extent although I think he still wants a top WR. If they actually got Moreno, Beatty and Cook, Andy Reid's smile would be big enough to make him look anorexic

The Giants sure do have a lot of picks, I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a trade or two

1(29) Robiskie – WR – OSU

2(45) T. McKenzie – LB – South Florida

2(60) W. Moore – S – Missouri

3(91) S. Vollmer – OT – Houston

3(100) J. Luigs – C- Arkansas

4(129) G. McRath – LB – Southern Miss

5(151) L. Webb – CB – Nicholls State

5(164) B. Fletcher – CB – Iowa

3 DB’s, 2 LB’s, 2 OL, 1 WR

How do the draftguys feel overall about Stafford. From listening to the Audible it sounded like maybe he gave some of you some "EEEEEEEE" moments. That's gotta be good...right?
