First off....MAN what a GREAT way to watch a game. 30 minutes, zip. bang boom.
Thoughts....
Titans:
Holy crap is their defense SWARMING! I mean flat out mean, nasty and swarming. They are abusing everyone who touches the ball.
If VY hadn't thrown that stupid pick, the Jags would've been lucky to have anything more than 3 ponts.
Great pass rush.
Chris Johnson looks like a man amongst boys. These two teams matchup well. Both hardnosed defenses.
Nobody is making much of an impact, but Johnson flat out scares the jags...you can see it.
Even on plays where there's no holes, he still gets 4 yards by squeezing through.
Lendale White looks like he's pulling a tractor uphill when he does get a carry. It's night and day diffference.
Vince Young will make a decent throw, then make a boneheaded play. He's just not very good.
Doesn't run nearlly as much as I thought he would.
Scaife has some wheels for a big dude.
Kerry Collins 80 times better throwing the ball than Young. He hits guys in stride and those were on his first 2 passes of the entire game.
Young being hurt may actually help this team offensivley a TON. You know you suck when Kerry Collins is WAY better than you.
Jags:
Same can be said for their defense. Swarming and gang tackling, but not as ferocious. They hit too, but not like Tenn.
Garrard is hitting Matt Joones quite a bit.
Troy WIlliamson apparently can catch a ball.
Not even Jesus could have time to bomb one against Tenn's Defense. The front 4 is all over Garrard all day long.
MJD is the only real offense they have sans some quick outs to Jones, etc.
Not only that, he can pick up the blitz with the best of them.
Jags running alot of dig routes. All quick short stuff, but that's probably because TENN is in his face every other play. It's crazy.
General thoughts:
Not many penalties.
Neither team returned many/any punts....fair catches all day.
