Blunt or Bolden? Which NE RB to have? (1 Viewer)

Vereen

Both of these guys will be used evenly if Ridley is unable to play.

This is not even close to a committee, this is a Ridley with Vereen spelling in the backfield, Blount or Bolden will have little impact when Ridley is healthy and playing.

Yeah, backup your 3rd round pick with a 5th rounder

From what I can tell, Blount is in line to take over the early down and goal line duties should Ridley miss time. I've spent a last round pick on him in a few leagues. Vereen seems to have a specialized role. He may see some additional carries without Ridley, but he won't take over that role.

PPR:

I'd say Blount. It'd have to be a huge league format (20+ man rosters) for me to consider either.

Whoops, looks like you were wrong FF Queen.... AGAIN!

Vereen is the guy directly behind Ridley, you educated now?

So what's the deal with Bolden? Is he going to play tomorrow night? If he is healthy enough I can TOTALLY see belicheck giving him the surprise start to teach Ridley a lesson, and if boldin does well look out.

Wait and see... when Bolden got time last year he looked great, both he and Ridley had over 100 yards. I have trouble envisioning the huge Blount getting going to make a real impact on this team, probably any team. Bolden is the play behind Ridley imo. Ridley will get a full chance to get it going, they don't have enough options.

I wonder if he is worth a pre-emptive pickup before the game tomorrow night...just in case...

I would be shocked if he wasn't picked up. Not too many guys on the waiver wire have as clear a path to some good PT with such a good offense.

I picked up Blount and then dumped him for Bolden (no cycling to make him unavailable in our league, I'm not a jerk like that). I just think maybe Bolden's efforts last year make Belichick trust him a little more if his knee holds up.

I'm not expecting him to but then what does 'questionable' mean to BB.

I think it probably means that at the end of the year all the Qs should be roughly split between in and out, but I'm just guessing

when we're not talking stars, BB generally seems to play them if they practice. Grain of salt, not absolute, but...that's how I think of it. I'd expect Bolden to play if he practiced. I can't recall if he did.

I doubt either is a good move for FF. I mean we're in week two so you should have better on your roster. I could almost see them being useful as a bye week fillin if one emerges, but Vereen will be back by then all fresh and...I'm not sure if this is worth it for FF. The Pats like their two starters when they're healthy. Leon Washington was a curious cut they were glad to get back. I think if he has to, BB is comfy with him on 3rd downs in specific situations only.

I'm just suspicious of BB. Bolden seemed to be perfectly healthy until week 3 when fumbled a screen pass and wasn't seen again. Maybe he hurt his knee on that play but no mention was made about how/when he injured his knee.

I'm fairly certain only one of us is actually educated...

Not getting the Bolden love...

He had one good game last year.

If Belichick had confidence in Bolden, why did he bring in another mediocre RB with the same skill set? (At a verteran salary level too)

.

Because Bolden is hurt. Unless you mean Blount? Either way...

Ridley / Blount

Vereen / Bolden (Washington)

Vereen will not be back until Week 11 at the earliest.
