The Reggie Bush interview was terrific. Bush instead of just giving money to the Red Cross, instead he paid something like $50,000 to renovate a high school stadium where a majority of the local schools played their HS football games...hosts about 10 games a week. It was under 8 feet of water when he started the project...now it looks like a pristine field any college would want to play on for that matter.

The round table discussion with Howie Long, Shannon Sharpe, and yes jerry Jones was awesome! JJ is a terrific owner and he actually retracted a comment when Costas called him out on it...I though that showed a liilte humility and I actually had a lot more respect for JJ after this roundtable discussion.

Packer fans got a double dose with Paul Hornung...he was kicked out of the league for gambling but Vince Lombardi got him reinstated and probably preserved his legacy in the game...great piece that was done.

Brett Favre...one word...SAD! I really felt like I was watching a guy that is not living in reality. I think he can still produce but as a Favre owner in a couple of leagues...I got real nervous watching this piece.

Who watched this last night? I would normally put this in the FFA but the whole show was basically football so it deserves The Shark Pool treatment.

Also was a great piece on drugs the NFL can't detect...strong piece as well. The show rocked and it got me pumped for the season...more so than any ESPN fluff piece. Love HBO!

MOP, I'm not the biggest Costas fan but I watched it last night. I thought it was great. The JJ roundtable was entertaining....loved when Howie Long made fun of JJ over some word he used.

Anyway, what was sad about the Favre interview? I didn't get that at all from watching it. Just a guy who still believes he can play at a high level and is going to play till he can't do that any longer.

I gave $20.00 to the local high school team, same thing.

Neo, I just felt like the Brett Favre interview was sad...I guess the fact that his surrounding team is awful. When marino went out...61-7, it was embarrassing but he made it to the playoffs, he had a good final year...won the AFC player of the week twice that seaosn IIRC. I just think Favre is at the end of his career and I kinda would like to see what he could do in Washington, Chicago, somewhere he could turn a playoff team into a real title contender. I think he was kidding himself thinking he can lead the Packers to the palyoffs the way they are set...wehn Wandstedt took over the Dolphins he told Danny bye bye. Marino got an offer from the Vikes but declined...thank god.Favre could or should have been traded/released and allowed to finish his career on his own terms of sorts.I jsut felt the piece was incredibly well done but Favre just seemed kinda sad and maybe that rubbed off on me.

Brett Farve reminds me of Gavin Grey " The Grey Ghost" from the 80's movie Everybodys All American.

speaking of the leagues drug policy, its hard to believe you can get booted for taking something as harmless as Sudafed!

Favre makes me sad like the banana everytime i see him. I really wish he didnt return this season, i think he will be embarrassed this year by his poor OL and his diminishing abilities.

All this Favre talk makes me laugh. He still has the best arm in the league, and he plays in the worst division in football. It really wouldn't be much of a surprise to see the Packers win that division and make it to the playoffs. I guess we'll see what's being said if the Pack beat the Bears on Sunday.

I think it's very cool that Reggie put the money to direct use for a project like that. I think the Red Cross does great work, but if a person has the ability to donate directly to the organization that spends the money, it often has a better impact.

Sweet "Leaping Lanny" Avatar. I have a similar pic (autographed) somewhere in my attic. :bag:

Ministry,

I am assuming that the stadium that Bush help renovate was Tad Gormly Stadium in City Park? I played several high school games there in the mid 80's and the place was kind of a ####hole even back then. Could you describe the new Stadium as best as you can? It would be great if you had any links to pics of it.

Thanks
