I read a column in Sundays Detroit Free Press about Willie Stargell. In this article were more incredible numbers from Bob Gibsons 1968 season.
He had a stretch of 16 games, one was a no decision. The other 15 were all complete games wins in which he allowed a TOTAL of 7 runs. Furthermore, he allowed 1 or fewer extra base hits in 14 of the 16 games, and in the other 2, he allowed 2 extra base hits.
If you ever get a chance to really look closely at his game logs from that season, do so. The numbers all the way around are mind boggling.
