I think he will have a great year if he can stay on the field. He is a great DB, and a top 10 caliber fantasy DB.
We are in the middle of our draft and 21 defensive backs are off the board--but no one has yet taken a risk on Sanders. Eventually, it will be worth it, but I think folks are focusing on filling other positions first. Likewise, 30 linebackers have already been taken, but Morgan is still available. I cannot remember in any of my drafts any talent as great as theirs discounted so much because of injury risk. Everyone is clearly thinking that it's just a matter of time before that guy is just taking up a spot on my roster.Sanders is quickly becoming the Dan Morgan of the IDP world in the secondary.
Dungy said he was rusty. Judging from the gamebook, I'd guess he played a little more than a quarter, but it could've been much less. Sanders is like Ed Reed to me -- if he's rostered, you have to play him unless you've got another clearly better option.I was looking at the gamebook from colts lions game. It says Sanders was in the starting lineup but he did not register anything on the stat sheet. Anyone know how he looked and how much he played? I have him on my team and am trying to gage if he should be in my lineup to open the season
Do they say he is healthy Jene? (As healthy as Bob Sanders can be)Dungy said he was rusty. Judging from the gamebook, I'd guess he played a little more than a quarter, but it could've been much less. He's back practicing, which is more than he did all of last year. The local news notes suggest he was moving well -- although I believe the surgery was on his shoulder again this offseason, not his knee. I'd guess Tony saw the game and he's a Sanders fan so he would have had an eye on him. He may have a more comprehensive take.Do they say he is healthy Jene? Worse imo. At least with Morgan you had a pretty good idea if he was going to play or not going to play. I've had Sanders in the past and it seems like he's the dreaded "game time decison" every week. Consequently, unless you're willing to spend every sunday morning fixed to your computer hoping to hear the final word whether he'll start or not you'll miss some of his good games if you are conservative or get a "ZERO" other weeks by being aggressive and hoping he plays.Sanders is quickly becoming the Dan Morgan of the IDP world in the secondary.
I agree, but it's frustrating to have him. Not overly surprising, his trade value is low enough where you don't want to trade him and miss out when he plays. OTOH, he takes up room when he doesn't play and there were a few games when I didn't know if he would play or not. Here's to another year of choosing between him and Madieu Williams for my S2.I would not hesitate to start Sanders until he can't play. He is an elite safety, but he has not proven he can stay healthy. If you already have him, you have to start him in my opinion. He comes with risks, but he is a stud who I have close to the top 10 DBs.
Well, I took Morgan and Sanders in the 21st and 22nd rounds of our draft. At the very worst they can keep each other company in my team's infirmary.Sanders is quickly becoming the Dan Morgan of the IDP world in the secondary.
