Bodden finally starting in Detroit (Bullocks too) (1 Viewer)

Leigh Bodden will start this week for the Lions, replacing Travis Fisher and Daniel Bullocks will replace Gerald Alexander at safety this week as well.

There will be two changes on defense.

One move, which was expected, is that Leigh Bodden has taken over the starting right cornerback spot from Travis Fisher, who will continue to spell the starters at each cornerback spot. The Lions will also replace starting free safety Gerald Alexander with Daniel Bullocks. Alexander took over the job as a rookie last season, but only because Bullocks went down with a knee injury in the preseason.

Marinelli did say that rookie second-round pick Jordon Dizon would get a lot more snaps at middle linebacker in a rotation with starter Paris Lenon (Dizon had 14 snaps against the Falcons). Marinelli said Lenon would not be moved to strong side linebacker when Dizon entered the game.

What was the Lions reason for having their best CB as nickelback in week 1?

What was wrong with Alexander?
Seen as a symptom of the larger failure of the entire defense to tackle and cover. The Lions are playing musical chairs with their defense right now. Things may again look entirely different in a few weeks.

"Scapegoat," is the word Jene was looking for. :)
:goodposting: I am a little wordy, aren't I?I like Daniel Bullocks a lot, so this move doesn't bug me all that much. It's surprising that Bullocks is now thought to be ready after he didn't crack the first team during the preseason.

So would Bullocks be a solid start? Since Harper may be out, I need a replacement.
I don't see why not. The Lions d will be on the field most of the game and nobody on the DL or at LB looked as if they could tackle Turner
