Two bodies found in suitcases along road near Lake Geneva

Highway workers cutting grass outside Lake Geneva, Wis. this week came across two suitcases in tall weeds in a ditch, moved them to the side of the road, and kept on working.

About an hour or so later, someone called police to complain about the suitcases, still sitting along North Como Road just east of County Road H.

When officers arrived around 3 p.m. Thursday, they made a gruesome discovery: A body in each suitcase, according to the Town of Geneva Police Department.

Law enforcement agencies in the area are reviewing missing persons reports, and police said they hope autopsies later today will help identify the bodies.

Police said in a statement that residents "can rest assured that this is an isolated incident and the crime did not occur where the bodies were located." They did not elaborate.

I thought this was a lost art.

I find it very hard to believe that these mowers picked up suitcases containing bodies, didn't wonder why they were so heavy, and just moved them out of the way. You know they looked in there and were like "Yeah. I'm letting someone else deal with that."

I would have been like "HEY, free suitcases!!!"

Perfectly said. "I'm just going to leave this 150 pound Samsonite sitting here nearly on the side of the road while I continue mowing..."

A guy from work just went to Lake Geneva for a bachelor party this weekend. He weighs like 300lbs so I doubt he's in one if those.

My wife can't get three days' worth of outfits in a suitcase, and these people can fit an entire human being in one.

So one of the bodies was from Samson, Alabama?

Great Police Chief Wiggins investigative work here. Isolated incident and the crime didn't happen in the ditch so no need to worry. It's an open and shut case.
