Here are some bold (and semi-bold) predictions, feel free to add your own.

  • There will be 5+ trades on Day 1.
  • There will be 4 QBs taken Day 1.
  • Goff will be the 3rd QB taken.
  • There will be 4 WRs taken Day 1.
  • Treadwell won't be the first or second WR taken.
  • Nkemdiche and Spence won't be taken in the first round.
  • Jaylon Smith will fall into the 3rd round.
  • There will be 2 RBs taken Day 1.
  • Henry won't be 1 of those RBs.
  • 2 teams will trade up from the 2nd round back into the first round.
  • Cardale Jones will be drafted in the first 32 picks.
  • Mel Kiper will get more than 25% of picks correct from his final mock!
  • Indianapolis will make a pick that makes sense.
  • A kicker will be drafted in the 2nd round.
  • The Browns won't draft Carson Wentz.
  • Goodell will get booed when he comes on stage (ok, this is pretty much guaranteed but I still love it every time)

"In a shocking twist, the Cleveland Browns have agreed to swap first round picks with the New England Patriots."

  • There will be 4 QBs taken Day 1
I was going to post there will be AT LEAST 4 qb's taken in the first round.

People are sleeping on QB demand this year....

- Geno, RGIII, Sanchez, Keenum, Kaep, are all guys slated to start week one

- A bunch of teams are rolling out with starters in their mid to late 30's

- Several teams have developmental backups that they will either need to pay or start developing their next developmental backup, nobody will want to get "Elwayed" at the QB position

Party pooper here. The wording of the punishment makes it so that if NE acquires a pick higher than the first that they had, they will then lose the higher pick. Pretty dumb.

On topic: Pats take a WR with one of their back to back picks. Braxton Miller or Leonte Carroo.

Joy Bosa drops out of the top ten.
This would be big!  Heard there's some worry over how Urban runs his program and that's why Bosa, Zeke, Thomas, and other O St guys could go below where people are predicting (Saw a report, 0 clue how true it is).

The first QB selected is by the Eagles.
Good call, I could easily see this coming true, purely because there's people that think they could jump to #1 to grab Wentz.  Idk that I see THAT happening.  But if CLE and SF don't go QB then the first could definitely be at 8.

I predict even if NE traded up to 31 goodell grabs the card, runs out of the building, and down the street repeatingly maniacally, "Not on my watch!".

Seahawks take Henry at 26.

The thing they lived about lynch was not just that he played physical but he brought a physical mind set to the team.  Carroll talked about how lynch helped set the tone for the organization after they won the superbowl.   Henry is the perfect fit for them.   He's basically a younger lynch.   And that's an important role for them against the defensive lines in Carolina and St Louis and Arizona.  They need a power back.  Rawls is good,  but not a difference maker.

I have seen Henry all over the place.  Some people have NE trading up in the 2nd to grab him, others have him going at the end of the 1st to Carolina, Seattle, Denver, or to CLE in the 2nd.  If you're right, great call.

This wouldn't surprise me. I love the way all these teams are talking tough about not selecting a QB (like Rams with the Keenum talk and Browns with RG3) or that they love QBs like Kaep/RG3/McCown, etc. Seriously? All last year everyone talked about RG3, Geno, Sanchez, Kaep, etc. as if they were dog crap and now that the Browns sign RG3 or Fitz is asking too much (he is), they talk about how the Browns don't need a QB or that Geno is starting material.

Yes, Denver won the Super Bowl with a great defense (still miffed about that damn game :( ), but none of these teams (even Denver) have that same D this year. Also, if it weren't for Osweiler's win against NE, they don't play the AFC Championship in Denver and likely don't go to the Super Bowl. The rest of the contenders (not looking at you Houston) had better to way better QB play. The Jets, Browns, Rams, 49ers and maybe even Denver with all the losses aren't going to the playoffs with that list of QBs. I certainly know the Panthers would be on the outside looking in if we swap out Newton for any of those guys above.

I think the Falcons are an ideal team that would trade out of the first round to pick up additional picks.

Obviously teams bring in 30 players for visits and pick a lot of players they never bring in but I think it's safe to say if a team brings you in for a visit there is at least some type of interest.

On that note I heard Henry earlier today on the NFLN say he had visits lined up with Seattle in addition to Dallas and Carolina.

I don't think Henry is a superior talent, but in Seattle he could be dangerous.

I don't know, always felt like he needed great blocking so he can build up his speed but I guess the RPO scheme would help him.Personally I think Rawls is better but if he went to Seattle it would a heavy shot to both players value.

I won't be floored if Seattle picks him but I really don't see it happening, at least not as high as pick 26, but I don't see Henry as a first round pick in general.

I 100% agree, just passing along poor ESPN speculation.  I mean, Daniel Jeremiah has Hargreaves going before Buckner and Myles Jack in his recent mock which just won't happen...
There's a reason they keep doing this, and it's us.

How many clicks would they get if they came out with mocks every week and said, "this is exactly the same as the last one, fellas."

There are no points for accuracy anymore.

They should do more mock drafts with trades!  That way they have a shot at being accurate, the way they currently do it everyone's mock is blown up after a couple trades.

Giants trade #1 pick to Jets for Wilkerson.

Or

Jets trade Wilkerson to move up to top 4 and grab a qb
Interesting call, even after they picked up Vernon?  Can they afford to sign Wilkerson to a long term deal too?  I could see the Browns giving up their 2nd and 4th for Wilkerson.  Immense talent and they have the cap space.

A lot of my picks don't look good anymore, but the Browns probably won't have a shot at Wentz so that should come true!

Also, 1 trade down, 4 to go!

Even though it's been the standard joke (along with the Lions) for decades, I predict no WRs or TEs for them in the first 3 rounds.

Pats draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd and he doesn't suck.

They also take one of those big tweeners with one of their five 6ths.

Goodell announces the Goff pick as "Jared Golf"
Zeke to the Giants? Absolutely no way he will go that late. Unless they trade up, that will not happen. Zeke will go top 6.

top 6 huh?

we know the rams arent taking him

if cleveland is there at 2, i doubt they do, and i doubt anyone trades up to 2 for zeke

SD is out

Dal....maybe, doubt it tho

Jax is out

Baltimore, maybe. Bal is your best bet, but there will be so much Def talent there, im not sure they can afford to take RB that high

Well... Not "bold" as of today.

But what the hell? Browns get the Jets 20 pick, Wilkerson and some change..

Draft Corey Coleman at 20.

I agree there will be another trade in the top 10. But it won't be a running back. They need linebackers very bad. I see them staying at #10 and taking Darron Lee or Myles Jack.

  • There will be 5+ trades on Day 1.  2 so far, looking good
  • There will be 4 QBs taken Day 1.  Still feel ok about this, especially if someone trades back into the end of the 1st
  • Goff will be the 3rd QB taken.  Definitely wrong.  Think he goes #1.
  • There will be 4 WRs taken Day 1.  Treadwell, Coleman, Doctson, Fuller/Thomas?
  • Treadwell won't be the first or second WR taken.  Still think Coleman and Doctson could go first and 2nd
  • Nkemdiche and Spence won't be taken in the first round.  Definitely possible, but hearing Spence could go top 15.
  • Jaylon Smith will fall into the 3rd round.  Or farther if people are really worried about the knee nerves.
  • There will be 2 RBs taken Day 1.  Looks unlikely but still think maybe Henry goes day 1.
  • Henry won't be 1 of those RBs.  No other RB is stepping up, seems unlikely now.
  • 2 teams will trade up from the 2nd round back into the first round.   Still viable
  • Cardale Jones will be drafted in the first 32 picks.  Still possible (maybe Arizona?) but unlikely.
  • Mel Kiper will get more than 25% of picks correct from his final mock!  Who the heck knows!
  • Indianapolis will make a pick that makes sense.  If they go OL...
  • A kicker will be drafted in the 2nd round.  Looking at you Tennessee!
  • The Browns won't draft Carson Wentz.  I think they take Ramsey or trade down.
  • Goodell will get booed when he comes on stage (ok, this is pretty much guaranteed but I still love it every time)  It'll happen!

My guess would be Carroo, out of those two, but only due to the Rutgers connection.

But my prediction is that, of those two picks, one of them is Sterling Shephard (WR, Oaklahoma).  He'd be an excellent slot receiver of the future.

Anymore? When were NFL mock drafters ever held accountable?

Well crap. Sounds like Jaylon Smith has a "drop-foot" problem.  Meaning he can't control his left foot due to nerve damage and it tends to drag on the ground.  Now my prediction of him falling to the 3rd round is probably wrong because he could fall to the 7th.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but OSU could challenge or break Miami's record of 11 players drafted in the 2002 Draft.

Edit:. OSU had 14 guys taken in the 2004 draft. Not sure they reach those heights this year but they are still looking at double digit players drafted

List looks pretty good. Green I agree with completely, red I disagree and the struck out ones are pretty much already signed in stone (Smith won't go 1st/2nd). Don't care about Kiper.

Some fans will get pissed off because their team did something they were not expecting...unfortunately they have an expectation because they read articles and mock drafts from the media and forget that these people do not work for teams so all they are doing is throwing out speculation and gossip not legit facts...

And half those fans will be right to be pissed off, no matter how much those teams flushed down the toilet with scouting. I still remember folks saying the Chargers made a great pick(well, actually 3 draft picks including a 1st) with Melvin Gordon. Now, they are poised to pass on Zeke because they have the RB situation SOLVED. lol

Agreed. I've been following this draft way more than past ones, so I hope I am more informed. I loved the 2013 draft (2012 and before was Hurney) because I felt like we got a steal in Star at 14 and Short turned out fantastic. 2014 and 2015 I wasn't particularly happy with the Benjamin (I wanted Lee, LOL) and Thompson picks, but other fans convinced me a bit on them and their play showed that Gettleman and team knew what they were doing. I can't wait to get Benjamin back, felt so bad for him last year because before the injury he was the talk of camp, i.e. looked like he was about to take a step forward from his excellent rookie season. Thompson wasn't really starting until mid-season. He started/played early with Luke out, but really came on at the end of the year and in the playoffs. It will be fun to watch those 3 LBers next year knowing the Thompson has adjusted to the NFL a bit. 3 guys who can make plays all over the field and cover.

Just passing on a bold prediction from a poster from the Giants fans site BBI. His info has been good since he's started posting.

"Bosa is expected to tumble down to the mid teens on draft day because of the partying issue, and the Giants are in the group of teams not interested at 10. Some teams don't even have him on their first round board but as we know it only takes one team."

IIRC, there were issues like this with Dan Marino in 1983.  He turned out pretty well and you never heard anything like this about him in the pros.
