Boldin (1 Viewer)

Helmet to helmet hit on a floater in the end zone. Pointless play. Boldin didn't get up and was convulsing a bit as Fitzgerald and the other players ran over to him.

No movement as he was carted to the ambulance. Didn't look good but hopefully he just got knocked out. Wishing him speedy recovery even though I'm playing against him this week.

It's not wise to play doctor or speculate, but that was easily the worst looking injury I've seen in years. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not playing again.

Best wishes for Anquan.

Second that. Same to the Carolina O-lineman, who looks like he'd be ok, but looked bad after a knee to the temple.

That looked bad. Players sometimes don't think when they try to beak up a play like that. The Jets player... was it Smith? He rang himself up pretty well too. I sure hope Boldin just got his bell rung real good, as opposed to something more serious than a concusion and a stinger.

It looked horendous. I pray he is ok. 2 helmets one from the back one from the front and we can only hope he was just knocked out and has a concussion. It was crazy how both DB's launched themselves head first into him...both should be heavily fined and maybe suspended for a game. The NFL has no place for that kind of head hunting.

Hopefully Boldin was just unconscious but that looked seriously bad. And the Jets' defender who laid the hit is going to be a lot poorer by the end of the week. He launched himself helmet to helmet on Boldin.

Cards locker room reporter just reported he's moving his extremeties and is talking.

Whiz just came on and said it was a precautionary thing and Q wanted to get up while he was lying on the field. Coach is still alluding to something being wrong with him though. A little vague right now.

Djax got knocked out in a game vs Dallas, seemed fine afterwards but then had a seizure in the locker room. There's probably a lot wrong with him and it'll be good to keep him under close observation. Glad to hear he's doing well though.

Rhodes did not take a launch... he was following the play. Smith DID launch, no doubt. If Rhodes got fined, it would be a travesty. Smith... different story, and there should be a fine and suspension. Rhodes did nothing wrong. I guess you like Boldin... so do I, but to condemn what Rhodes did is an emotional response to a bad situation.

Just no excuse for this kind of hit. The guy just launched himself at Q's head...could have gotten them both killed. It should never happen, but why it happened with 27 seconds and a 22 point lead by the Jets makes it even more ridiculous.Thoughts and Prayers to Q and family...I'm glad to hear there is some good news. Having a hard time enjoying the rest of the day after that one.

I wasnt sure if his hyperventilation after he got hit was voluntary or involuntary due to a shock to his nervous system. It looks like it was a 'good' sign and was voluntary

..and I hope ARZ management feel like a**hats now for not giving him his due pay raise

Get well soon Anquan :goodposting:

FWIW, Rob Moore is referring to it as a concussion on the postgame show. Not sure how much he knows though.

Good news if the early reports are true. Sometimes these things that look terrible wind up being okay. Heck, remember when Darrell Jackson got knocked out and whomever the Seattle coach was then (was it Holmgren then?) said he thought he was going to die on the field? Jackson played two weeks later I think.

Here's a video link to the play.

Thanks. After watching that a couple of times. I'm not sure the 2nd hitter was head hunting. Boldin was on his way down from the first hit and sort of fell into the oncoming helmet.
:coffee: Guy aimed pretty low, launched mostly horizontally before Q got hit from behind, caught Q under the chin. His head was up and if Q wasn't pushed forward it wouldn't have been so bad. I'd like to see no fines for this hit.

without the helmet 2 helmet that would have been a TD....just sayin`
AgreedConsidering Warner got me -10 points for his 6 freakin turnovers, it would have been nice to get 4 of those backBut Boldin is alright, and thats the most important thing

Cardinals' Boldin carted off field15 comments Sept. 28, 2008 02:10 PMStaff and wire reportsEAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin was carted off the field after a scary helmet-to-helmet collision in the end zone with 27 seconds remaining in the Cardinals' 56-35 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.Cardinals writer Kent Somers said preliminary X-rays revealed nothing and he was moving his extremeties. But the All-Pro wideout was still being evaluated and was being taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons.“He's alert,” Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “He's talking and moving all his extremities. He asked to get up and the doctors won't let him.”Boldin caught a pass from Kurt Warner, but was hit in the back and then took a shot to his helmet from Eric Smith. Both Boldin and Smith fell to the turf, and Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald immediately waved to the sideline for help.Trainers ran out to check on Boldin, and soon the entire Cardinals team surrounded their teammate as the Giants Stadium crowd fell silent. Smith, also injured on the play, was able to get up after a few moments. After being working on for several minutes, Boldin was immobilized and placed on a stretcher before he was carted off the field.

On the replay it just looked like he went helmet first from the back side. But I agree totally about Smith. He did do a full launch.Great to hear he is ok and moving and talking. No doubt he will have the migrane of the year and be out at least a week if nothing else was wrong.

Pro Football Talk reports that Anquan Boldin "did not suffer a neck injury" and "has full use of his extremities" after leaving Sunday's game on a stretcher.PFT notes that Boldin "apparently was only knocked out," which would qualify as excellent news given how ugly the injury looked. In his post-game press conference, coach Ken Whisenhunt called Boldin "alert" and said that "he's talking and wanted go get up" but "the doctors won't let him." He hauled in 10 catches for 119 yards and one touchdown before being strapped down and carted off the field following a helmet-to-helmet hit in garbage time. Just looked at the video and there is no question this was a cheap shot. Guy fired his helment into the back of Boldins head didn't rap his arms or play the ball at all ... he was just trying to take his head off.
