BOLDIN!?!?!? (1 Viewer)

This was off yahoo, I seen it personally on TV when they showed him on the sidelines talkin, I personally think he has a broken Jaw and the team is not lettin it out! Its not to far to fetch, considering that we just found out about Mannings 2 surgeries, its possible for teams to bluff!!!

So when does he come back?

Mon, Oct 13 WR Anquan Boldin is wearing a wiring or bracing device in his lower jaw. The team is hoping he can play in Carolina after the bye.

(Yahoo! Sports)

Interesting.

Gotta admit I have my doubts myself. Didnt know about the wiring or anything but just was quietly hoping all would be back to normal in Week 8.

Big factor here is Breaston's emergence. He's looked very good in Boldin's absence.

He will be back week 8. No reason to lie about an injury and I don't believe teams are allowed to lie either. I have zero doubt he's back after the bye week.

... when he does return ... how do you think the impact his injury had on Warner will shake out?

essentially, Warner came clean and said he actually thought of retiring after witnessing the devestating hit on Boldin ... matter of fact, Warner went over to the strtecher, and told Boldin that he loved him ...

now, think what you will of Warner's faith , but one cannot deny the deepness of said faith.

based on all of that ... i wonder if Kurt tries to AVOID putting Boldin in any type of precarious scenario again, perhaps from some leftover guilt that his pass caused the collision in the first place. with the emergence of Breaston, and all-world Fitz on the other side, i wonder if Warner might consciously (or subconciously, for that matter) try to keep 'Quan "clean" ... :o

Boldin didnt break his neck, he's a warrior and I think it's silly to think he would avoid Q if he was open. Boldin is playing for some extr###$ next season.

Wow, your cool..... So, genius, how would you of said it if you witnessed it on TV?I'm glad that there are morons who love to check spelling and grammer on these posts, like we actually wake up every morning and say, wow i need to make sure i say things right and spell them right or else those people on FBG's will be upset, dude these are posts for people trying to get information or inform, dont waste your time tellin me how to type!!!K, Vent overSo I PERSONALLY fink dat since i seened it on my cable TV, that he might have had a broken jaw dat needz a heelin!!!

This came from a homer that post on AZ Cards message board...

On th wire deal

I don't know the exact and full extent of the injury, but wearing a wire brace on the lower jaw minimises movement of muscles of the face.

He broke a facial bone (like I say, I don't know which one, but it wouldn't be his jaw. If you break your jaw, you know about it), and the chances are that the team doctors are trying to minimise the movement of facial muscles, especially if he takes a knock. Remember that even though the fracture is healed, it is still less structurally sound than before it was broken.

It's the same principle as wearing a mouthguard significantly reducing the chances of concussion, it's to do with excess movement in rehab, is what I make of it.

He will be back week 8. No reason to lie about an injury and I don't believe teams are allowed to lie either. I have zero doubt he's back after the bye week.
Are you freakin serious?Every single week a team misrepresents the injuries to its players, both to make the other team plan for them and to play down the severity of an injury. It has nothing to do with la lie, but every thing to do with subterfuge.

YOU SAY IT HAPPENS EVERY WEEK?? Please name just ONE this year...Here ya go and YOU JUST GOT  The league's system is pretty straightforward - "probable" means there's a 75 percent chance of a player being ready to go on Sunday, "questionable" means 50 percent chance of playing, "doubtful" means 25 percent chance of playing, and "out" means out. Prior to the 2004 season, Commissioner Paul Tagliabue sent a memo to each team outlining tightened requirements on reporting injuries. He stated that teams needed to be more specific in their diagnosis, and issued a warning about the repercussions of falsifying information.

I've been a Boldin owner (three times) over the past 5 years, and if I've learned anything about Quan, it's that he's one double-tough SOB. He's the emotional leader of that offense, and I have no doubt he plays Week 8.

Having said that, Breaston will continue to play a key role in that offense as the #3 WR. He might be this year's Chris Henry in terms of production (the Bengals version, not the Titans).

So I guess the other 31 teams were hiding the fact their QBs had sore shoulders each week? :lmao:

well then it's definitely not a broken jaw. it would be wired shut. all reports i've seen is that he is expected back in week 8.per cbs..

..but coach Ken Whisenhunt was optimistic. "It's really a matter of seeing where he is next week because he's done some work out here," Whisenhunt said. "He's running around. I think it's all a question of how he feels in getting in some practice reps."

Was able to trade for Boldin this week. I'm hoping the owner doesn't know something I don't. I'm expecting him to start week 8.

Bump.

Anquan Boldin - WR - Cardinals Anquan Boldin (sinus surgery) has a chance to be medically cleared Tuesday, but revealed that his injuries after a helmet-to-helmet hit by Eric Smith in Week 4 were more serious than the Cardinals let on. Boldin had eight plates put into his face and wires placed in his lower jaw to correct his bite, causing him to lose 10 pounds he's since regained. He was also concussed, but passed a concussion test last week. Boldin's surgeon will remove the wires on Tuesday and inform Q if he can resume practicing. If Boldin gets the green light, he should play in Week 8 at Carolina. Oct. 20 - 1:11 p.m. ET Source: Arizona Republic

Bubba, no way he plays week 8....I would love him to as he is my #1 WR...but there is no way he will be able to....specially the way Breaston has been playing. No reason to rush him back there....

I guess my question would be, why? If he's fit to play, he's cleared to play, and he wants to play then why must he sit? Just because Breaston has been playing well?

From Darren Urban blog today

Anquan Boldin talked about his situation this morning with XTRA 910 AM on the Bickley and MJ show (Mike Jurecki has always had a good relationship with Q, who had been bouncing out of practice a little early last week and therefore unavailable to the media).

Boldin said he is hoping to get clearance from Dr. Reed Day (who did the surgery) on Tuesday about his surgery and wear a helmet again. Q said he had eight plates to fix fractures on both side of his face and wires in his jaw to help realign it. (By the way, Boldin doesn't like taking medication so he passed on taking pain relievers. I know he avoids alcohol, but no pain medication? Wow. That's really treating the body as a temple).

Boldin is supposed to have the wires taken out Tuesday. Boldin said he wants to practice and play this week, although he has to see how the helmet works. He lost 10 pounds but gained them back even though he's still working on eating normally.

If Boldin does come back it would be a huge boost for the trip to Carolina. I think it'll be a tough chore anyway -- the Panthers are undefeated at home and are 5-2 overall, and of course, it'll be a 10 a.m. Arizona start and we all know how that seems to bother the Cards. I guarantee most pundits nationally will assume a Cards' loss. But if the Cards can win, it may be the big turn-the-corner moment the franchise needs. The NFC West is upside down; the Rams -- who were considered the worst team in the NFL a couple weeks ago -- suddenly have won two in a row and are in second place in the division.

To reiterate what was said earlier with a link: http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blog/KentSomers/36409

Q hopes to play

Receiver Anquan Boldin didn't suffer a simple facial fracture against the Jets on Sept. 28. The injuries were so extensive that it took eight plates to repair to them.

In his first public comments since undergoing surgery on Oct. 2, Boldin told Dan Bickley and Mike Jurecki of XTRA -910 that he also had wires inserted in his lower jaw to correct his bite and that he suffered a concussion.

Boldin passed a concussion test last week and said he hopes to be cleared by his surgeon on Tuesday. The wires should be removed then, too. Boldin has been lifting weights and running routes and said he is hopeful of playing Sunday at Carolina.

Boldin said he lost 10 pounds after the surgery, but has since regained it. He also mentioned that he avoids pain medication and dealt with the pain as best he could.

Boldin attended practice last week but left the field early each day and was not available to reporters.

For whatever it's worth, I remember seeing a scrolling update on ESPN last night during MNF that said Boldin returned to practice on Monday and expects to play.
