Thought he was a FA after this year.
On NFLN, Deion said after 2010 ... does anyone know if that is right?

7/31/2005: Signed a four-year, $22.67 million contract extension through 2010. The deal contains $10 million guaranteed, including a $5 million signing bonus.
2009: $2.75 million
2010: $3 million
2011: Free Agent
Except they are 5-1 without him the past 2 years, he's constantly injured/nicked up, and he's turned into a malcontent. If they wait til 2010, they get nothing for him. Gotta figure a guy like Boldin at least fetches a 2nd round pick.thanks. man, at that price for 2010 the cardinals would be crazy to deal him.
This contract for Boldin is a joke. I understand that Cards can hold him to it, but he is worth way more than that contract. I hope he gets dealt this off-season to a team that will pay him. Also he has always been a great worker and a tough guy not to mention a good teammate (look at his relationship with Fitz). He is not a malcontent or a team cancer like TO.he becomes a FA in 2011, which is why he'll probably be traded this offseason.

Very true, but you just can't have 2 WRs making Larry money. Hope Q is able to get paid one more time, but not to the detriment of the Cards other needs. This contract for Boldin is a joke. Boldin may be a malcontent with regards to his contract issues, and frankly, who can blame him? He is way underpaid considering his talent and production when healthy. But when it comes to the team, he mans up and plays his ### off. Not many malcontents would have played through a high ankle sprain the way he has. Unless the rules change due to the CBA stuff, the Cardinals would get something if they let Boldin go, quite possibly a third round pick. Compensatory draft picks are awarded each year based on the previous FA period, using a secret formula. If Boldin were to sign a big contract elsewhere and have a pro bowl year (two decent assumptions), the Cards would likely get a third round compensatory pick (depending on the value of free agents they signed in the corresponding offseason). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_Draft#Compensatory_picksExcept they are 5-1 without him the past 2 years, he's constantly injured/nicked up, and he's turned into a malcontent. Meh.....whoever said life was fair? He's getting paid millions to play football. Too bad for him that he's stuck in a bad contract but thems the breaks.Boldin may be a malcontent with regards to his contract issues, and frankly, who can blame him? Oh, I do agree, but my point is, despite being underpaid (relative to the market value for a player of his caliber), he's manning up and playing, and playing hurt, and he's doing it for his teammates. Thus, I don't really consider him a malcontent in the traditional sense of the word.Meh.....whoever said life was fair? He's getting paid millions to play football. Agreed. The Cardinals did him a huge favor in 2005 by reworking his rookie deal only two years into it. They gave him 10 million guaranteed. He was making 2nd round pick money, which was no where near that much, and he had at least 2 more years left on that original deal. I think its going to take a 1st or a 2nd plus to pry Boldin from the Cards. As a previous poster stated, they will most likely get a 3rd if they lose him after next season. I'd think they'd be better off paying him 3 million for 2010 and taking the 3rd rather than a 2nd next year. I think there are plenty of teams that would step up to do it as well. Dolphins, Bears, Ravens, Browns, Seahawks etc could all use Boldin.I love all the references to a "bad contract" - he thought it was pretty damned good when he signed it!
Bears have no picks left. Traded their 1st to Denver in the Cutler deal and their 2nd to Tampa in the Gaines Adams deal.Kitrick Taylor said:I think there are plenty of teams that would step up to do it as well. Dolphins, Bears, Ravens, Browns, Seahawks etc could all use Boldin.
Give us our home grown talent Suggs and AZ would sign that deal tomorrow.D said:I think the Ravens make a big run after him as Mason's replacement.
Who doesn't? Well I'm sure Kurt, Larry, A. Wilson, Beanie, Cromartie, and a few other guys dont have problems with management. If you stay healthy and perform on a consistant basis, you are going to be rewarded. Wilson stayed true to the organization and didn't cry and moan about a new contract and they gave him everything he wanted. You figure maybe someone would learn from that, no? Don't get me wrong, as a Cardinal fan, I love Q to death, but he has been somewhat of a headache and there is no way around it. Whether he 'deserves' a contract or not, he signed what he signed a few years ago and I'm sure was ecstatic to get that extension. Now he has to obey it, it's not like the dude is poor, but he definitely does not deserve Fitzgerald money. No doubt about it, Boldin is one of the heart and souls of the team, but he hurts the team when he gets in arguments with the OC during a franchise turning playoff win (last year) and leaves the locker room early before anyone even gets there, or when he cries about the head coach sitting him (which is in the best interest of the team, so that he can get healthy for the stretch run).He is for sure one of the top 5 toughest players in the league and he is one of the few WR's that plays that position like a running-back. Compared to the rest of the top wr's in the league, he absolutely deserves more mula, but when he #####es and moans, he is a malcontent, no doubt about it. And don't even try to tell me that when he is 70% he is better than a 100% Breaston cause that is nothing close to being true. Yeah he was being a tough guy in the NY Giants game, but did you see how bad he was limping around? While it might be inspirational to see Anquan hobbling around on one leg, it definitely is not better for the team.He wants to play in all the games that he can so that he can get that big contract when other teams are looking at him, and he doesnt want those teams to think that he is injury prone. And for people that are saying that it's not fair that he doesn't get the money he deserves...C'mon. How many times have you heard a player say 'It's not just football, it's a business...You never know where you can end up." Well same goes for this. If the Cardinals as an organizaiton, can get a top 10 WR for cheaper than they should and think he is too much of an injury risk, then why would they pay him? It is a great business move from that standpoint.I'm not hatin' on Boldin, the dude is a pure football player, but when it comes down to it, stop #####in' and play football and the rewards will come your way.As a Breaston owner, I hope he gets traded so Breaston gets more looks. I like the guy though. Seems like a good teammate, has a problem with management...but really, who doesn't?
You couldn't be farther from the truth. He's been a good player, but hardly a good soldier. Constantly #####ing and moaning about money, not to mention his escapades on the sidelines in last year's playoffs, as well as last week's whining about being inactivated.thehornet said:He deserves a shot to get a big contract. He has been a good soldier over the past few years. He has outperformed Fitz in a good number of games over the years and has done very little complaining aside from preseason rumors that he wants a new deal. If the Cards can't afford him, they should try their best to trade him and get some great picks to help their cause.
