Boss Bailey (1 Viewer)

Donnybrook

Boss has been non-existent through the first 4 games and then suddenly 10 tackles and 1 assist. I haven't seen any Detroit games. What is going on with Bailey? Will these stats continue?

Maybe. ;) Yesterday's increase in production was the result of a combination of factors -- didn't see the game, just speculating from the gamebook. Injuries to the LB unit have forced the Lions to play Bailey full time at MLB. Earlier in the season, Paris Lenon and Bailey were splitting time. Lenon has now moved to SLB and Bailey gets the increased value. Also, the Lions faced 28 rushing attempts yesterday giving Bailey solid opportunity, but it looks like the above average tackle numbers came from Bailey's responsibility in the Tampa-2 coverage. The Vikings completed 17 passes to backs and tight ends yesterday -- most of those patterns are completed over the short and intermediate zones in the middle of the field where Bailey drops back in coverage and should get the bulk of passes defended and tackles.IMO, Bailey probably comes back to the pack a bit on a weekly basis, but he'll have the same opportunity that a Gary Brackett might have. He'll have to stay healthy though.

The Vikings offense is not about to change from this pattern of many running plays and dump passes to everyone.

So MLBs that face the Vikings should be must starts against them.

The added bonus is that CT is not especialy fast so he is not as likely to elude the MLB as some other Rbs may be.

Only concern I might have when following this pattern is if your MLB plays behind poor DTs. The Viking Oline will be more likely to get to the MLB and eliminate him from the play then.
