Both Lion safeties injured (1 Viewer)

Kenoy Kennedy and Daniel Bullocks were both injured in the game against the Colts. I did not hear how serious either are. Kennedy was on the sidelines with ice on his knee, while Bullocks was in the locker room getting checked.

At this point, I don't know how serious either injury is.

Did Johnny Baldwin do anything tonight? :goodposting:

i saw Bullocks limp off, under his own power and he didnt seem to be in much pain

hopefully it is precautionary

(own him in 3 leagues!)

but football players are tuff so hard to judge just by how they react to the initial injury

How badly does this drop the Lions as a team D? They had a nice weak early schedule.
The defense went from terrible to more terrible.
:hifive: The front seven isn't terrible (it's not great either), but the secondary was going to be hands down the worst in the league BEFORE this happened. If Bullocks and Kennedy are out for any length of time, some dubious records may be in danger.

I agree.Their secondary is in bad shape...B-A-D shape...prior to anyone getting injured or dinged. Sure...it was Manning and the Colts...but Manning absolutely shredded that secondary last night. Potential cuts and bruises to both starting safeties...what is worst case scenario for the Lions defense? It is going to be a long year.

Hey, at least they've got a ball control offense to relieve some of the pressure.Oh, wait. :unsure:Worst offense-defense scheme combination evah.

Not looking good for Bullocks.....fingers crossed I guess.

I am not sure these folks know what they are talking about. A sprain=ligament tear. ie if it is an MCL tear he could be back in as little as 2 weeks. If it is an ACL tear he is done. The lions are hoping for the former but my guess is the physicians exam reveals the latter and they are hoping the MRI will prove the exam wrong...

Since when is a sprain and a torn ligament the same thing? :blackdot: Bullocks is officially out for the season. See the Bullocks thread for the details.

More severe grades of sprain involve tearing of the ligament fibers. A grade 3 sprain is defined as a complete tear of the ligament. I think the blog post is pretty much saying the same thing, although the semantics might be confusing -- i.e. Lions hope for a mild sprain and not a complete tear (severe sprain).

Thanks for interpretting my jibberish Dr Brammel.
