It was argued he had the best off season of anyone with upgrades to his entire team. It seems now though that Alex Smith and Bowe's set of skills aren't on the same page. What do you see from Bowe going forward in Andy Reid's system?

 
Week 1 - KC didn't need to throw the ball one time to beat a worthless Jags team.

Week 2 - Dallas has a pretty good CB tandem in Carr and Claiborne. Bowe still managed a reasonable day.

Bowe is currently the only playmaker on this team outside of Charles, defenses know this and until someone else steps up he will have up and down weeks based upon opposing schemes. All the things people were thinking and saying in the preseason still apply, he just needs more help around him to be consistent.

I agree on you. Dwayne Wade need another playmaker to be on the team. Right now the Cheifs is riding Charles to doggon much. They needs another playermaker to take some pressures off and open up the box. They need a good TE like when I had Jay Novacek.

I feel like the jury is not yet on bowe for this season. People were wry quick to write him off after game 1. That was an overreaction. But I do think maybe dial down my projections that I had for him I the preseason. I thought that in Reid's offense with an accurate qb like smith bowe had wr1 upside at a bargain price.

Now I'm thinking mid range wr2 which is still good as long as you have a legit wr1 in front of him in your lineup.

I think that the biggest ding against bowe is the KC defense and not Alex smith. No one saw that defense coming. I mean, they had talent but they had talent last year too and were horrible. This year is a different story. They are showing that they are a top defense and they held a high power Dallas offense down.

When the defense is playing this way, Alex smith goes to game manger mode which is no Bueno for bowe.

That's what happened in San Fran too. It's my that smith can't throw the ball deep...it's that for the last 3-4 years he has played with awesome defenses that made it so he didn't have to take chances like that.

So...again I think the jury is out. If the KC defense ends up being a top unit all year I think we will be very disappointed with bowe. If they flounder and KC goes into catch up mode a lot bowe will have his best year ever.

 
I'm not worried about bowe yet. The chiefs haven't been down much yet this year. They should have to pass a lot to keep up with Philly.

Didn't think I was possible to mismanage a WR so much. Why have a 55 million WR if you aren't going to throw him the ball.

 
Yeah if bowe goose eggs me he goes straight to my bench until further notice. Give me something...50 yards. Anything.

 
It looks like we have our answer folks. The chiefs D is for real, and as long as the chiefs have a lead they will play this dink and dunk style of offense. It will get them a .500 record but it won't work against the strongest of opponents like Denver. I believe that Reid is making a big mistake by not having smith throw downfield at least a few times per game.

 
I have seen enough of Alex Smith, as a Chief, between red zone and now this game....he just doesn't throw down field.

Bowe will be a flex or bye week fill in for me. I will start Steve Smith or Antonio Brown in his WR spot.

 
Looks like T.Y. Hilton is my new WR3 now that I get to actually watch the KC offense and Smith's amazing 5yd throws.

Does this mean that Avery could have on-going value? He seems pretty good as a dink and dunk WR.

 
Everyone is looking at this all wrong. The Chiefs made the mistake of taking a lead in this game. What you need to be hoping for is the Chiefs to get blown out by the third quarter. THAT is when Bowe gets his numbers... in garbage time.

Addendum: It may be possible that if the Chiefs get up by 20+ at some point in the game, they may go to Bowe to get him his garbage time stats, but this theory is unproven to date. Chiefs up by twenty? Please....

He got paid, not sure if he cares whether he catches another pass this year if they keep winning.

Yeah, I don't see him doing it. Guy's been on bad teams throughout most of his career so I'm sure he's just happy to be on a winner right now. And I certainly wouldn't line up to acquire an unhappy player on a 3-0 team.

 
Completely unstartsble. Anyone arguing otherwise doesn't own him in fantasy football. Completely regrettable draft pick

 
own him in 2 leagues and knew there would be times like this; Smith will not take chances, he takes whats given. Tonight Philly took Bowe away and depended on making good tackles on Charles' and Avery's bump offs. They missed a bunch of tackles and lost the game. The problem with Smith is he makes it too easy to take away a stud like Bowe, Smith sees him doubled pre-snap and simply looks away :( . I know Reid is happy that their 3 - 0 but he knows this style of offense isn't going to cut it against a team like Denver, hes going to have to open it up.

A couple of other factors 1) Smith had a ton of pressure in his face and 2) Smith and Bowe just don't have the chemistry that Bowe and Cassel had, and that saying something.

Once teams stack the box up on Charles Bowe will be more open.

I paired Bowe and Charles in my 16 teamer, figured whenever Bowe gave me a stinker Charles would get the extra yards.

The problem is that A.Smith doesn't want to use his arm strength to toss it down field. I don't think he had a throwlonger than 12 yards tonight. All the yardage he got was because Avery was shifty and was able to amass all that YAC. There were several occasions where Bows was covered 1 on 1 and yet A.Smith would only look no more than 7 yards pass the line of scrimmage. Its so sad that the Chiefs paid him so much money to be a decoy.

 
I hate my dynasty team....vjax (only tradeable asset at this point), bowe, mcfadden, mathews......time to control alt delete and completely start over. Going to be a long few years.

 
Man I hate Alex Smith. This guy is so afraid to make mistakes he will not throw a pass more than 10 yards away.

Philly defensive coordinator needs to get fired. Idiot couldn't figure out Alex Smith is just gonna check down every 3rd and longs?

Another note, I will never draft Bowe again as long as I live.
