Old article that caught my attention a few days ago...

http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/football...the_locker.html

At New York Giants practice today, injured RB Brandon Jacobs was walking without a limp or a wrap on his right knee and swore he'd be running by next week. "It sure won't be five weeks," he said of the time he'll miss. DE Osi Umenyiora didn't rule himself out for Sunday, but said he absolutely necessarily need to practice before he can play. Russell Warren, the Giants' team doctor, will check out Umenyiora tomorrow; that leaves only Friday for him to possibly practice.
I was impressed by Ward for the past 2 weeks. So where does the whole situation go in a week or 2 when Jacobs is healthy? Will it be split 50/50 or will one of them get primary carries? Does anyone see a Tiki/Jacobs type of relationship where Jacobs goes back to short yardage and goal line? <_< This impacts me becuase...

I play in a Dynasty/ Salary Cap/ Auction League where I bid $126 out of $1000 for Jacobs.

At the time I was planning on him being my RB2... I got Ward off waivers for $5.

I'd love to cut Jacobs and run with Ward but I am not sure whats going to happen there.

I am guessing others have the same problem with deciding who will get the carries etc.

Let's keep this about the Giants as a team and what they will do with Jacobs and Ward and not about my team since this is not the coach forum.

Sit tight. NOBODY at this site knows whats going to happen when Jacobs returns. I think you can wait another week or two to find out.

No one KNOWS what will happen with any of the other posts on here either. I was looking for opinoins.

If YOU do not have one thats fine, but there is no need to post that you don't have an opinion.

Why post for me to sit tight? Of course I can sit tight. I'd like to see if any Giants fans have gut feelings on it, or if Giants fans hear talk on local radio that would help etc.

well, you weren't looking very hard for opinions; there are about 80 opinions in the thread i posted for you above. so one might say there was no need for you to post this thread. :excited:

my opinion is that jacobs will remain the starter. hReason being he hasn't done anything to lose that job. The Giants are 0-2 and although Ward has filled in admirably he is still the backup. Thats my opinion.

It will be a 5 week wait, no matter what BJ states. Why would the coaches rush him back, Ward is doing just fine so far.
THEY ARE LOSING GAMES!! coaches dont like to lose, thats how they end up being fired. They want their best players on the field when they are healthy, it helps them win.

Ward is their best RB...what are you trying to say? :yucky:
If the coaches thought Ward was their best RB wouldnt it have made sense for them to start him against dallas? wouldnt he have been #1 on their depth chart during preseason? The coaches saw enough of Ward to elevate him to #2. No offense but I'll trust them more than what a Ward fantasy owner thinks. :yucky:
