I am willing to bet a lot of Jacobs owners (rightfully) handcuffed Bradshaw to him. And I bet those same owners deliberate each week over which to start. Here is a thread to try and tease out who is the better player to put in your lineup.
First the facts:
FPTS (PPR)
Jacobs - 8.3 FPT/GM, Bradshaw 11.8 FPT/GM
RUSH YDS
Jacobs - 107 rushes for 388 YDS (3.6 YPC), Bradshaw - 68 rushes for 423 YDS (6.3 YPC)
REC YDS
Jacobs - 5 for 23 YDS, Bradshaw 6 for 74 YDS
Red Zone Carries
Jacobs - 23 carries (2.09 YPC) 1TD, Bradshaw - 15 carries (3.6 YPC) 3TD
Inside the 10 Yd Line Carries
Jacobs - 12 carries 1TD, Bradshaw - 3 carries, 1 TD
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the above it is clear that Bradshaw has been *much* more effective. Jacobs has the edge in one category: opportunities. He gets the ball more, and importantly gets the ball *much* more inside the 10, where RBs score the vast majority of their TDs.
On a per touch basis Bradshaw is roughly twice as effective relative to Yards per Touch, and certainly from efficiency of converting the touches to points.
So will the Giants recognize this and switch the distribution from 60% Jacobs to 60% Bradshaw? Does that even matter, if even at 40% of the touches Bradshaw is a better play than Jacobs? Or does the wise owner rid himself of the problem and trade one/both away?
