Brandon Lloyd hurt? (1 Viewer)

Just went to check when I didn't see him on the field last drive. Between him and Steven Jackson, they are crippling my team right now.

:bag:

Take this with a grain of salt and use at your own discretion (I don't want to be put on a timeout): I don't know if you saw it but when he made his last catch he clutched his right knee after he hit the ground; his second to last step you can see his knee deflect/wiggle. When he got up to walk off the field, after he collapsed, he didn't appear to have a limp and wasn't assisted.

The Denver Broncos not only lost to the Oakland Raiders on Monday night, but they may have also lost four key players to injuries.

Defensive end Elvis Dumervil, cornerback Champ Bailey, wide receiver Brandon Lloyd and running back Knowshon Moreno  will each have an MRI on Tuesday.

Dumervil initially sustained a strained shoulder during practice last week, but pushed through according to Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post.

Bailey was replaced in the fourth quarter by Cassius Vaughn after hurting his left hamstring in the fourth quarter.

There is a little confusion over Llyod's status as he told reporters he was not injured following the game. Head coach John Fox stated otherwise.

Moreno's hamstring injury came on a nine-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Groin strain according to this reporthttp://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_18882489And this mentions an MRI tomorrow, though also has Lloyd claiming he's not hurthttp://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2011/09/13/big-names-on-broncos-injury-list-after-loss/9543/
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but this is one of the things that caused Lloyd's career to start so slowly. He would flash talent but injuries would set him back and then he would get buried on depth chart. He won't get buried easily now, but he IS injury prone. He is the classics "return to the mean" guy this season.

It was raining all night. The Denver line couldn't stop a bunch of cheerleaders. Orton was so awful the entire stadium was screaming for Tebow.......yet Lloyd put up a respectable 6/89. We'll wait until later in the week to see how bad he is injured but until then my parade is still on as scheduled.

Orton did look at Lloyd a LOT....he is the only real option in the passing game and Orton knows this. He had a end zone target too where he just missed getting a TD and he was targetted on some deep passes too. Lloyd is going to get his share of points every week, especially in PPR. The only question is the health.

And if I remember correctly, Lloyd did pretty well with Tebow at QB, as Tebow gave him a lot of targets. As long has Lloyd is healthy, there's no reason why he won't be a solid #2WR. Denver can't run the ball effectively, so Lloyd should receive 10-11 targets a game.

And his upside is a solid #1.

Lloyd absent from Wednesday's practice

Brandon Lloyd, WR DEN

News: The Denver Post reports Broncos WR Brandon Lloyd, who injured his groin late in Week 1 against the Raiders, did not practice Wednesday as he watched from the sidelines. The Broncos play the Bengals in Week 2.

Analysis: Even though the Broncos don't have as much of a pass-happy offense as they did in 2010, Lloyd still showed in Week 1 that he is a big part of the passing game and one of Kyle Orton's favorite targets. Lloyd can still be a viable Fantasy WR when healthy, so track his progress for Week 2. If healthy, then consider Lloyd a No. 2 Fantasy WR.
I just grabbed Brandon Gibson hoping that Bradford is OK and that the extra targets with Amendola out will help him as insurance here.

That's quite a bit of an overstatement. He might get 10 looks in 2 or 3 games, but 160 targets for the year is not going to happen.

Why not? He had 153 last year.

He didn't get that with McDaniels, he certainly won't get it with Fox.

Why not? Steve Smith had over 140 targets almost every year, and over 100 receptions in 2005.

Fox is quickly learning that both his running backs suck. They passed all game vs OAK.

It doesn't matter if the coach wants to run the ball, if the personnel can't come through even Fox is a smart enough guy to not keep feeding a running game getting 2 ypc and putting the ball on the ground.

He might not get 160 but Fox will not be why unless something drastically improves with the running game or I'm vastly underestimating his stubbornness/stupidity (which I already have a very high estimation of)

I repeat, 160 targets for the year is not going to happen. One hundred sixty. Poster was saying 10-11 targets per game (i.e., 160-176 range). Not. Going. To. Happen.Perhaps 140-150. If healthy, maybe.

:blackdot:

Later afternoon game, so if he starts or not may not be known by the time the first games start. I for sure will be looking into the availability of a hedge play on the SNF or MNF game if his status is still up in the air later this week.

not looking good for lloydhttp://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=449&line=212992&spln=1Broncos beat writer Lee Rasizer believes "it's going to take some major convincing" for Brandon Lloyd (groin), Knowshon Moreno (hamstring), and Champ Bailey (hamstring) to suit up against the Bengals this week.
Very oddly phrased. Probably meant to say "NOT to suit up"

Lloyd returned to practice.

Brandon Lloyd (groin) returned to Broncos practice Friday.Lloyd is the lone wolf of the injured players, as Knowshon Moreno (hamstring), Champ Bailey (hamstring), and Elvis Dumervil (shoulder) remain sidelined. This obviously increases Lloyd's chances of playing against the Bengals. Check back this afternoon for an update on his participation level.

Ahhhh, I almost forgot how great these fantasy headaches were.

Let's see how he did in practice and how he looks in warm-ups. I worry about him "playing" but then not getting many reps after it tightens up. Late game, so it kind of sucks.

Anything new on Lloyd? Last I heard he was a game time decision.
I've been searching around and haven't been able to find anything new. at this point I'm going to go with another player in the 4:15 game (EST) and switch Lloyd in if it looks like he'll be good to go.

and to add more than #####ing (really we can't even say beatching here? :lmao: )
