I doubt he gets too much love in SF and probably won't make the team. He would be pretty far down the pecking order with Crabtree, Boldin, and Vernon Davis getting most of the targets. Of course injuries can change a lot of things. He's not that far removed from an uber stud season. He wasn't that bad with the patriots, either, he had decent numbers but just wasn't a good fit. He sat out all of last year, but mostly because nobody was looking to invest in a journeyman with locker room issues. I can see him becoming a 900+ yard receiver in sf, he's only 33. Not a great dynast buy, but a reasonable ww pickup or late round redraft stash who has the potential to churn out some decent games as a backup/bye week guy.

At long last, Brandon Lloyd has found a new home.
The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that the wide receiver has signed a one-year deal to rejoin the team that originally picked him in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft.
Lloyd didn't register a snap last season after the Patriots released him in April on the heels of a 74-catch season in New England. Amid reports that his "erratic behavior" in the locker room bothered the Pats, Lloyd drew little interest on the open market before landing a role in a zombie flick.
Add Lloyd to a flock of 49ers wideouts who lack speed, but know how to catch the ball in traffic. He's on the wrong side of 30, but has a shot to make the roster behind Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree. San Francisco still lacks a true burner at the position, one reason the 49ers showed interest in DeSean Jackson before he signed with the Washington Redskins.
The move is another indication that Jim Harbaugh isn't completely sold on Quinton Patton as the team's third option. Asked about the young pass-catcher at last month's NFL Annual Meeting, the coach told reporters he was looking for "a third guy who can get open and make plays. ... A playmaker."
The 49ers should keep looking. We'd be surprised if a 32-year-old pass-catcher coming off a sabbatical year fills that need.

Desperate times call for desperate measures I suppose. I'm not a fan of this move, either. I guess it can't hurt to kick the tires of Lloyd and see if any air is left though.I'm not sure I understand this deal for the 49ers are they extremely worried about Patton and his newly acquired off fields issues. I don't see much of an impact aside from depth.
Him and Leon Lett have produced the biggest "WTF are you doing?" plays in my NFL watching experience. Bless them!http://www.fybertech.com/4get/13539661442122.gifI can't wait for The Duck II

I think that's Ken Dorsey throwing to him to. Lloyd is ducking a duck. Not one of the best moments in 49er history.Him and Leon Lett have produced the biggest "WTF are you doing?" plays in my NFL watching experience. The Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows said WR Brandon Lloyd has been the 49ers' "most consistently productive receiver" this offseason.
Colin Kaepernick agrees, saying Lloyd has almost always been "open by a step or two." Lloyd does not appear to have much rust after sitting out an entire season, but already 33 and with little to no value on special teams, Lloyd's roster spot is still anything but secure. Continued stellar practice play like this will go a long way to solidifying his spot on the 49ers' roster.

He's going to slot in as the 4th WR at best barring injury in a run first offense. No fantasy value.Rotoworld:

Absolutely amazing catch, Brandon Lloyd being Brandon Lloyd...too bad he can't consistently do it.
