Adam Schefter reporting on Mike & Mike right now. Supposedly for a 2nd round this year and next.

Trade will supposedly go down later today.

I think an ok deal for both sides. Definitely makes Miami passing game a lot better

Curious to see what the total package is, but sure makes the Holmes deal look like more of a steal. With Marshall gone let's see what the genius has in store with the Broncos. Hard to imagine their offense will be very effective with Orton at QB and their best receiver Eddie Royal. Royal has loads of talent but we sure was invisible last year.

Denver's got to be very happy with this deal, especially relative to what Santonio Holmes commanded in a trade. Dez Bryant has to be the favorite to be Denver's pick in the 1st round now.

Miami just became a contender in what's suddenly a pretty stacked AFC East. Sorry Buffalo.

McDaniels :goodposting:

i have BOTH Marshall and Royal on my dynasty team. Seems to bump up Royal's value a bit -- not sure about Marshall. Does it bump up Marshall's value at all?

Awesome deal for Miami, Marshall is easily one of the top 5 wr'ers in the game today, they just have to hope he keeps himself in check. I mean strictly from a real NFL standpoint, not sure about player values in FF other than Henne who I think will throw more this year anyway, and now it will most likely he will have better results.

HURRAH!!! I've been waiting on this guy to really explode for so long! I mean to take his place as my WR1 in a Moss/Fitz/AJ kinda way. And beig a Henne owner, I feel like I just hit the number.

let's all say it together ... CHAMPIONSHIP !!!

A couple thoughts here:

1. Miami is going to be giving up some serious coin to a real headcase......and now he will be in Miami. Probably very few NFL cities with the nightlife and temptations that Miami has to offer (even though he is recently married).

2. Being with the Parcells regime should really help, but I'm curious......who are the leaders as players on this team to keep him in check.

Can you post your full league scoring?

WoW!!!!!!!!!!

I think Gaffney is the guy in Denver, not Royal.

I also don't see them going Bryant in the first, McDaniels is a team first guy, he has shown that with his trades.

I still see McClain if he falls to them in the 1st and maybe a wr in the 2nd.

You have got to be kidding. First of all Henne will be MUCH better than Orton, in short order. And now we can actually start the guy confidently week in/week out like I did before McDaniels came along.

Apples and oranges. Sure Marshall has plenty of baggage but heA) Wasn't going to be suspended 4 games to start the last year of his contract.B) Wasn't going to be cut by his previous team if they couldn't find the right price.

I could see Lloyd getting more time also, they paid him his bonus on a 2 year deal, which leads me to believe he will be part of the offense going forward since he does not play any special teams.

Lloyd is a hard guy to figure out, he has made some of the best catches in the NFL over the past few years from a highlight reel standpoint, but yet can not seem to work his way into a starting lineup.

In case you doubt me:

There was a great one in Denver last year as well, but didn't see it.

ricky and ronnie gonna find even more room to run now

if they move ronnie lex hilliard is a nice sleeper this year

Miami has to pay a decent price to get him (both in salary to him and picks to Denver) but it COULD be an incredible lift for their offense. Adding one top notch WR will make everyone better, i.e., Ted Ginn should be a fine WR2, Camarillo/Bess great as WRs 3 and 4, and all this from a team that can be committed to ball control, running, and the wildcat. I guess what I'm trying to say is that adding a guy like Marshall should help improve this offense more than it would improve the offense in Dallas, Seattle, etc.

Good deal for both teams. MIA gets a much needed WR, and DEN loses the problem child.

I'm surprised other teams didn't offer the same trade for Marshall though. Two mid 2nd round picks for a #1 WR seems worth it to me. Salary may have been a problem though.

:tfp: The situations are not even close to the same.

I don't really understand the unbridled enthusiasm for Henne a lot of folks seem to have. Sure, he seems like a decent prospect, but he certainly hasn't been "lights out".He was 24th in the league in YPA, 22nd in QB rating, 22nd in yards per game.He had more ints than TDs, and won about half of his games.Orton was far better in every measurable category. Team/situation has a lot to do with that, but I just don't think I'd be jumping for joy about replacing Kyle Orton with Henne at this point.

From Armando salgueros Miami herald writeup:

I'm told the sides have already set parameters on a deal that will make Marshall the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. The highest paid WR in 2009 was Larry Fitzgerald, who earned $10,893,332.

Marshall's deal will average at least $10 million per season and also could include guaranteed monies exceeding $30 million.

Where's Bronco Billy?

Well if he does get busted on South Beach with seven women and drugs Bronco fans could be relieved.

Will having Marshall as the #1 provide enough for Ginn to become a solid contributor or will he simply continue as an overhyped high draft pick?

that and Marshall>>Holmes
AGREED>...I think there was too much made of the Holmes deal - Mostly by Steeler haters...The Jets are basically renting Holmes for 12 games and gave away a 5th round pick for that right.Miami probably has their #1 WR for a real long time.It will be interesting to see what kind of deal Marshall gets which should blow away anything Holmes or Edwards could command.

Denver deserves credit here. Coming away with two second round picks for a guy they didn't even want? If done correctly, that's two, young, inexpensive starters. Well done. Meanwhile I can certainly appreciate Miami's aggression here. Henne will be a favorite sleeper to those who try to snipe a mid round QB as their starter or as a committee guy.

No love for Hartline, I like him and think he's got a lot of upside.

To a degree you are right. Marshall is a superior talent to Holmes. Marshall can be a top five receiver for a number of years. Holmes has the potential to be perhaps top ten, maybe top fifteen. Holmes is getting suspended for four games, but both players are one mistake away from a possible one year suspension. Both will have to be signed to a big money contract to keep them. Marshall will have to be signed right away. Holmes is not a free agent until after this season. You can have Holmes come in and compete for a year and see if he can keep his nose clean. Marshall you have to sign to a big contract right away. So with Marshall you have to trust that he will stay out of trouble. There is more upside to Marshall, but there is also more immediate risk. All things taken in to consideration, I'd want Holmes for a fifth, despite the four game suspension, before I'd take Marshall for two seconds, particularly when I could wait a year to sign Holmes to that big contract.

Ginn won't be a Dolphin. They are shopping him, and will eventually take whatever they can get for him.

I think Ginn has value as a ST returner but clearly his WR skills are lacking.

:goodposting: Agruably the best deep threat / stretch the field wideout in Miami last year.

Camarillo was rumored to be on the trading block as well, so it could be Hartline/Marshall/Bess as your starters.

Miami had to do this. And to be able to get Marshall for a 2nd vs spending a 1st on Dez Bryant.

Now draft CJ Spiller and we are going to have a very nice offense.

BUMP DAVONE BESS UP!!!!He will end up the #2...
How can you bump him up? His only value was as a possession guy, already catching the most balls on the team but for a really low YPC. He'll simply catch fewer balls now with Marshall getting his 90+, he's not a TD threat, so what is there to bump up over last year's numbers? I think his temporary value just took a hit.
