Brandon Marshall (1 Viewer)

On the bright side, he's less likely to get arrested if he's rehabbing.
Actually it's usually the opposite. When guys are rehabbing they have a lot more time away from the team and if they are weak mentally they can allow themselves to get lazy and in trouble. Charles Rogers is a perfect example of a bonehead who's injury rehab time was spent gaining weight and smoking herb.

Maybe he's counting on having a few games off at the beginning of the season to give him enough time to get back in game shape?

What a mess! Why did he wait so long to have the surgery? Kurt Warner had it a couple weeks earlier than him and he was in the Super Bowl.

I would like to know more about the surgery as hip surgery is not a common sports procedure. To me it sounds serious but the article makes it sounds like he can be expected back to camp in July. How serious is this? I guess it depends on the specific surgery.

Perhaps the doctors thought it would heal with rest, so Marshall rested, only it didn't heal and so surgery became the way to go.

Didn't Javon Walker have his "off field" issues while he was recovering from his knee injury? Does not look like Marshall needs an excuse to get in trouble. From what I can tell though, he is trying to improve his behavior. Don't think it will be a sudden change of course, but taking steps in the right direction will certainly help his long term value (in Denver & FF). I don't recall seeing any report that he was "recovering" from a hip injury that he needed rest for in the first place.... maybe I missed it, but I can not think it's a good thing. The biggest problem with hip surgery is infection.... let's hope he was no where near Cleveland!!If it was a minor "clean up", he should be fine by late May. If he won't be recovered until July, I would not call that Minor!! There appears to be some information that is being concealed (for his privacy or other reasons). But it does not look like Denver will be ready to challenge for the division this season.

Ok...so he loses his star QB who force fed him the ball, he's got a yet to be defined role in a new offense, he's facing a potential suspension, he's got the reputation where he can get in additional trouble at any time and now he's undergoing the knife for hip surgery. Well, if you're looking to acquire him you probably won't be able to get him much cheaper....I'm just not sure that I'd be looking to grab him at this point since there's a lot of uncertainty and not a lot of good news.

Hip's are tricky beings, could be nothing, could be serious. Unfortunately it'll be difficult to know one way or the other until he's back on the field.
