Just curious. He was ranked right about 50th overall going into the draft but was not taken until pick #240. I assume teams had news of something the rest of us were unaware of? Considering most other guys with off-field issues didn't suffer much on draft day, I can't imagine how someone goes from projected 2nd round to 7th w/o there being some sort of newsworthy explanation. For now I'm assuming the knee injury he had late in 2006 wasn't as mild as reported even though he came back and played after it.

I was very dissappointed to see the Bills not take a shot at him. We don't have much LB depth on the team and for a while I thought he could have came in and competed for the MLB job. Pretty upset when I saw them pass on him so many times.

Funny...I'm a Bills fan too and scratched my head when they passed him up with their 7th round picks. There must be an undisclosed medical issue because character concerns didn't cause the slides many had predicted.

Ahh...thanks Kinger...that sheds some light on it. I trust CC's opinion. One of the more insightful and accurate posters on the boards.
So says the noobie I invited to my favorite league who then proceeded to kill everyone as he stomped his way to a championship. Thanks, EF. :lmao: Siler probably belongs in the 3-4 in SD. My opinion on him in midseason was kind of high, because he was making so many plays. I set out to scout Everett specifically, and Siler wouldn't let me because he wouldn't let Everett make any plays.

But as things slowed down in the offseason, and I replayed a few Florida games (mostly analyzing Moss and Nelson), something began to jump out at me. Yes, Siler made a lot of plays. He made tough looking plays too, but that became a red flag. All these tackles that looked so difficult and impressive, should have been easier plays. He was tapped out in one of those seasons of destiiny, but the DNA on that film wasn't nearly as impressive as the numbers or press clippings.

There is no doubt the immaturity came through in interviews and nearly sent him into free agency... with Everett.

Well, is he starting now? All those guys ahead of them...well..ya know......

Been reading he is a great run stuffer and is improving in the pass game.

Has a solid matchup this week? 3 downer or just 2 downs? Thoughts?

Some one will know better than me but Cooper and Burnett have both been hurt and he and Dobbins have been filling in. I think its Dobins for Burnett so that still leaves Siler as the #4 ILBETA- Well that would be wrong. Looks like Siler had more snaps than Dobbins

KFFL) The San Diego Union-Tribune reports San Diego Chargers LB Tim Dobbins (knee) will likely be out of action for at least two weeks.

(Rotoworld) Chargers ILB Kevin Burnett (ankle) is expected to return from his ankle injury for this week's game against the Giants.Analysis: Burnett has missed the last two games and his backup, Tim Dobbins, hurt his knee in Week 8. Burnett had 32 tackles and one sack in five games before getting hurt.
I would guess its back to Cooper and Burnett with Silar off the bench

Siler in the saddle now?

KFFL) Updating a previous item, San Diego Chargers LB Kevin Burnett (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 9, but he is unlikely to play in the team's game.

10 tackles, I predict

Rotoworld) ILB Brandon Siler is likely to start for the Chargers against the Giants on Sunday.

Analysis: With Kevin Burnett (questionable, ankle) and Tim Dobbins (doubtful, knee) likely out, the third-year man out of Florida will make his first career start. This is good news for the Giants' Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw.
