Braylon Edwards owners (1 Viewer)

I can't take too many more weeks of this. I have other options for a WR3 that are at least good for 5/75 type days.

I think I'm going to leave him in vs Cinci's terrible defense this week -- but I'm wondering what others are doing/thinking after watching him not produce for three weeks.

Benched him for Driver in Week 3, but he's going back in the lineup against Cincy. If he stinks against them, he won't see my lineup except as a result of bye weeks, or if Cleveland makes a QB change. Maybe switching to Quinn gives him a spark. I don't think so, as it doesn't matter who throws a WR the ball if that guy drops it.

I benched him last week in one league for Royal against New Orleans. This week he will be playing in at least 1 league, probably both leagues I have him in. If he can't light up Cinci he's going straight to the pine till I see two good games from that chump. Made a trade for Housh to give me more options at WR in one league and will go with Steve Smith as WR1 and Cotchery/Driver/Royal combo for WR2 based on matchups in my other league that I own Edwards.

Good advice here. This weekend against Cincy is the swing game. Absolutely no excuse for Braylon to not be a top 10 WR this week other that the obvious (that he won't be a top 10 WR this year).

It was tough for me being a Browns fan...but I benched him for DeSean Jackson last week. I got a few extra points out of the change and plan to keep it this way until DA picks it up or we see BQ in the lineup.

I've started him every week and will continue to do so, but I'm just stubborn that way. Until he is held out by injury, I paid too much for him as my WR1 to let him sit. My next best options have very little potential, so I'm leaving him in with the hope that he eventually gets it together. He hasn't even reached 10 points in a week yet and that's with getting 1pt/5yds receiving. He can't even muster 50 freaking yards in a game?

If someone with that much talent and that much opportunity doesn't at least get lucky and fall into a big gain or a TD this week, than I'm going down with him.

I still can't understand why people think Quinn can "spark" Braylon's production. Anyone who has watched the Browns play knows that Braylon's play has been atrocious. If anything, the return of Stallworth and Jerovicious should help spark the entire offense, especially the running game.

When i traded for BE, i expected the early start would be tough (not this tough I admit) but his 1st 5 weeks were going to be rough I figured.

So I am just sitting tight, don't really have a better option to start.

he and my other fav AJ have been horrible dropping passes left and right. Im gonna ride them out though. They my studs, sooner or later the light will come back on.

Just curious - what do you see happening after week 5?

After week 5 the Browns will be coming off their bye week. They face the Giants and Redskins in weeks 6 and 7 who can generate some pressure (more so from NYG) but do not have the best secondaries. Braylon should be full speed; Jurevicious and Stallworth should be healthy or at least ready to get hurt again and the Browns should be ready to make or break their season in the second quarter of their schedule.

I sat him for Roddy White, Santana Moss and Houshmanzadeh last week. I will probably get him back in the lineup for White this week.

I feel bad for the Braylon owners, he was awesome last season, many owners probably used a very high pick on him.but the Browns are still 'the Browns' as we know them, it will take a while to get things rolling, they seemingly overachieved last season...I'm not even sure if the shark move is to trade FOR Edwards, I'm just not sure that there's any value there for 2008 ..dynasty is a different thing, but, I'd much rather have Santana Moss at this point..

Can't give up hope yet, only 3 weeks. Colston started terrible last year and finished very strong. As an owner of both in a keeper league I am struglling right now but will not bench Edwards, especially this week.

Should he get some slack.

Week 1 was bad. He dropped several balls One was a deep pass that just about anyone with hand and opposable thumbs would have caught. He should have had a startable game this week, Anderson looked decent.

Week 2 was the hurricane game 20-30 mph winds. They also played agaisnt a great pass D.

Week 3 another game against a defense that supposedly one of the best pass D's in the league this year. This is the only game I didn't watch a good portion of, but I apparently the D was all over Edwards.

I'm not an Edwards owner, if I was I wouldn't be worried about the first three weeks or a switch the Quinn. I would be more worried about the schedule, looks pretty tough. FBG has Cotchery and S Moss ahead of him, I own both of those two and am thinking about making an offer for Edwards with one.

I'm holding. I'll be patient. Through smoke and mirrors I'm somehow 3-0. So I'm not prone to panic yet. Actually, I'm more concerned about Ben. How am I 3-0 again?

I just traded for Braylon. Typical "buy low". Traded Bowe for him. Reasons to expect his production to go up...

-Three tough D's to start the season didn't help

-DA and Braylon missed most of the preseason and haven't gotten to any kind of groove

-Joe J and Stallworth will be coming back soon and they immediately draw attention

-QB situation will only get better.. either DA gets better or Brady will go in

If you can afford to "buy low" then go for it. We only start 2 WRs, so if it works out for me, I'll be rocking Wayne and Braylon at WR!

I see them having no choice but to force the ball to their playmakers.Derek Anderson was sacked 14 times last year, he basically sat around and picked any one of his three 7 footers to throw to.This year he has been sacked 8 times already.CLE is clearly not the same team as last year, but I can't see them NOT making it a point to get Braylon the ball. And the good news is Braylon has nowhere but UP to go....i hope :goodposting:

I don't think Bowe for Edwards is necessarily a buy low. Bowe is the highest targeted WR in the league so far. Although the QB situation in KC is a mess, they seem to be favoring Bowe and he's talented enough to make a play with a garbage offense.

As long as DA is the QB he'll be worthless.

Once Quinn takes over after the bye week Edwards will be a top 10 fantasy WR again.

Here's the thing about Edwards that scares me.

If you go back and look at D. Anderson's numbers from last year, the last 5 or 6 games he played, he REALLY came back to earth.

Which tells me some D coordinator figured him out and it's been copycatted since.

There's a reason Baltimore let this guy go. (IIRC)

The reality is until BQ gets into the huddle, BE hasn't much chance, and his dropsies are killing any fantasy value he has.

But how can you go from a 16TD season to freaking NOTHING?!?!? He hasn't score 1 freakin point for me in my big money league.

Not one.

If Edwards was even MEDIOCRE...I'd be OWNING this league (since I have MBIII and had Turner (traded for S. Smith))

but to have a freakin zero for a $21 player is brutal.

I'm not convinced it's their o line. They have enough players and money in the line. It's the QB.

I guess he sucked last year with Anderson at QB, which is why people took him this year as their WR1.
Edwards has regressed and Defensive coordinators have studied game film on him and learned to expose him for the fraud he is.
Which easily explains the numerous times he's been able to get open over the past 3 weeks, but continues to let the ball bounce off his fingers. Those defensive coordinators have been known to cause younger players skills to regress.

Please. Defensive coordinators study game film? Really? But they didn't last year?

Agree we (the BE owners) have to let it ride this week @ CIN - hoping (maybe praying) for another classic Ohio shootout game where Edwards and DA can find a way to get back on track. This might be just what the Dr. ordered. One, to turn the CLE season around - Two, to save DA's job w/ the pending bye week as a good opportunity for a QB switch if that's what is needed.I'm a CLE homer and this team looks lost on both sides of the ball right now. Run game is brutal, O line is under performing, the offseason FA D line moves are not paying off, DA looks like a deer in the headlights, and BE can't catch anymore. KWIII seems like the only guy leaving it on the field right now. Three tough games to start the season including one (PIT) where the weather didn't help the cause. DAL and @ BAL were 2 very good defenses, but that's not even a good enough excuse for why the offense looks so bad.IF Quinn gets a shot after the bye, we (again the BE owners) almost HAVE to leave Edwards in the lineup for at least a week or two to see how that goes as well. I'm sure that while it isn't helping your FF team right now, it's not killing you to see the Browns struggling. Their schedule (along w/ the rest of the AFC-N) is rough this year.

Please tell me you meant Anderson here.
