After Walt ran the drug dealers over and shot the one who didn't die. What scene is this about? "One minute"?"Run."
Agreed. Prior to that my one criticism of the show was that as savvy as Hank was, how could he never make the connection to Walt even if he wanted to have that blindspot on some level?bostonfred said:Hank figuring it out was a Kaiser Soze moment. This is some solid out-of-the-box thinking.I have to cast my vote for other and vote for, Scotty beaming out Chekovs guts.
Eight Ball deserved better!!!peaces said:It wasn't the most shocking, but when Walt killed Eight Ball I remember saying to myself, "man, this is a dark show"
YepOfficer Pete Malloy said:I voted Todd shooting the kid because it was totally unexpected. A big part of it is that we had no idea that Todd was such a wacko up until then.
At least Walt cut the crust off.Eight Ball deserved better!!!peaces said:It wasn't the most shocking, but when Walt killed Eight Ball I remember saying to myself, "man, this is a dark show"
File that desert scene as unexpected, but not in the usual Breaking Bad way.I was shocked when Saul recocnized Walt's cough.

Didn't see it coming? I don't follow... We were all waiting for Hank to finally catch on and the consensus at the time was he had to at some point.bostonfred said:Hank figuring it out was a Kaiser Soze moment. I'm pretty sure that episode was the most intense, entertaining, white-knuckle hour of television I've ever witnessed. I was exhausted at the end of it.The feeling I had when the Nazis pulled into the desert area where Hank and Walt were was like a punch in the gut.
I'll nip this in the bud and just tell you that the Star Trek joke had already been made.Sarcasm meter down?
What about Badger's
God, I miss this show...
Every item listed would individually put most other shows to shame.

Ten prisoners in four different prisons being murdered in a two-minute timeframe is one of the options and IT HAS ZERO VOTES!!!

I just started it and finished it in the last 2.5 months. I'm almost depressed now that it's over. I miss it like it was a huge part of my life. I guess 2 or 3 episodes almost every day will do that. Such a great show.God, I miss this show...

That scene was haunting and stayed with me for days, showing the total lack of regard Walt showed for human life. That said, the show was building to it for weeks, so not "shocking" per se.God, I miss this show...

I voted Walt running down the drug dealers. I think that really set the bar for shocking moments for the rest of the series.
Not on the list but probably in my top 5 - Todd killing Andrea while Jesse watches. That was just brutal.
I voted this too, but it was really close.Hank figuring it out was a Kaiser Soze moment. It was by far the most memorable dump in television history. It was the biggest and most obviously necessary turning point in the show, yet you still didn't see it coming. And if it hadn't happened, everyone would have been better off.
I think he did it to save Jesse. While it was an evil act on many levels of course, I don't think it was self serving.Voted "Walt watches Jane die". It might actually be the most memorable scene in the series to me. Everything Walt did was so calculated. Nearly every move he made he had time to justify in his own mind what he was doing. It was "for his family". While his acts were heinous at least we knew why he was doing what we was doing.
Jane was different. We got to watch Walt make a split second decision whether someone lived or died. I think most people's instincts would make them save the person in danger (especially given that all he had to do was turn her on her side). In that moment we saw who Walt truly was. For me, that was when he broke bad.
Didn't he do it because Jane was blackmailing him?I think he did it to save Jesse. While it was an evil act on many levels of course, I don't think it was self serving.Voted "Walt watches Jane die". I think I need to know what you define as "a little over a week" before I state how impressed I am.One issue with watching the entire series in a little over a week.
I forget a bunch of moments. I need to rewatch
Well said. That split second saw him nearly save her as he ran around the bed and started to stretch his hands out to save her, but then caught himself, made a quick decision, and simply watched her die. In that respect, it's almost showed that Walt's natural reaction was to not let her die, but once he had a second or two to think about it, he changed his mind.Voted "Walt watches Jane die". so according to the thread .. i started just before Christmas and finished new years day.however I remember I did watch the 8 season 1 episodes in November on a trip.I think I need to know what you define as "a little over a week" before I state how impressed I am.One issue with watching the entire series in a little over a week.

I guess I'm a softie - because I felt he thought that Jesse could only sober up if Jane wasn't in his life - he left the money with Jesse anyway (if I remember correctly), so not sure it was about the blackmail - although I guess the spectre of her spilling his secrets to his family would have always been out there.ShaqAttaq said:it was jane's blackmail efforts and his loss of "control" over jesse.Fly said:Didn't he do it because Jane was blackmailing him?Dr. Octopus said:I think he did it to save Jesse.
