Breaston with the (potential) return of Boldin (1 Viewer)

Curious to see what folks think about Steve Breaston once Boldin returns, whether that's this week or next. It seems to me that A) he's proven himself to be a pretty decent option for Warner, who now has some trust in him and 2) Arizona's offense is one of the few in the league that is explosive enough to make the #3 wideout a viable fantasy option. Your thoughts?

I don't think we will see much from him IF Boldin is healthy going forward. It is very hard to sustain two, let alone three WRs at an elite level. While Breaston has proven he has more ability and did more with his opportunity than Bryant Johnson ever did while in AZ, I still find it very hard to believe they will be able to get the ball to all three on any kind of consistent basis.

completely agree.....his time maybe next year if boldin leaves.

I have a terrible keeper team that I took over. Is Breaston a decent option to trade for as a Wr keeper for next year? ie; What's going on with Boldin?

Well, with Boldin back (and snagging two TD), Breaston still had 9 catches for 91 yards. I'd love to hear from those of you who watched the game about how he looked, how he was used, etc. I'm really starting to believe that in Arizona's system, he can function as a pretty decent fantasy WR3 even with Boldin back on the field.

I didn't watch the game, but was pretty surprised at his numbers...I think he is proving that Bryant Johnson was not a good WR held back by two great ones...good for Breaston, he is craving a name for himself...also, I would be pretty psyched if I were a Cards fan. With each game Breaston proves he belongs, Boldin loses ammunition for a hold out in '09. Hopefully they can keep all three next year as I think it will be a really fun team to watch.

What seems most promising to me is the fact that Warner clearly has confidence in the guy, judging from the 9 receptions. I'm looking forward to seeing the target numbers tomorrow for Fitz, Boldin, and Breaston when FBG releases them.

They throw the ball so many times, that he is bound to have very good games. Especially considering that he will be drawing the least amount of coverage, from the worst cover guys on the defense.

in the panther game, boldin didn't play as many snaps as he usually does. the cardinals said they were going to ease him back in, and limit his playing time. breaston was in several times when boldin usually is. now that boldin has been eased back, he will probably see his full playing time again. breaston still makes a very good #3, or maybe #2 sometimes.

Absolutely no love for Breaston from FBG this week, who have him ranked as WR40-something, behind stiffs like Koren Robinson and Marty Booker. How can he be ranked behind a guy like Robinson who has 1) a season high yardage total of 31 yards 2) no touchdowns 3) no more than 4 targets in any game and 4) Seneca Wallace at QB?

With a matchup against St. Louis, I think Breaston has a shot for another 8-10 targets and 70-80 yrds and a score.

As an owner of both Breaston and Boldin, I am seriously considering playing both of them this week, and maybe for the rest of the year (with Holt on bench).

I have started both Fitz and Breaston since week 5 and plan on continuing to do so. The Cardinals are throwing the ball almost 40 times per game, so there's plenty to go around. From what I've seen, it seems to me Breaston is more of a playmaker for that team than either Edge or Hightower and they really don't utilize the TE. I think Breaston is a fine play.
