Breece vs Bijan (non-PPR) (1 Viewer)

This may be irrelevant five minutes into my draft tomorrow, but I'm picking third in a 14-team, standard scoring, 3WR/no flex draft. I've mostly decided I want to go RB in the first based on what I expect to be available in the 2nd round. For the sake of this post, let's assume that's what I'm doing. It's possible the first two picks are CMC and one of Breece/Bijan, in which case I would probably take whoever is left. But let's assume it's CMC and either Tyreek/Lamb. Curious to hear from people who have decided between the two.

If it were PPR, I'd probably give the nod to Bijan because I think he will catch more passes. But in standard I just don't know. Both have old QBs coming off Achilles tears. Breece has a better track record, and "one year after the ACL" has a pretty high hit rate. But Bijan was considered a generational prospect when he came out, and he looked pretty good last year despite Arthur Smith. Also, in terms of creative playcallers, I'm much more optimistic about Zac Robinson than I am Nathaniel Hackett.

I think it's close, and there's probably no "right" answer based on info we have. Still, I'd love to hear how others view it

I didn’t have a choice in my draft, but I would go Breece with a Braelon Allen caveat and the further talk-you-out-of-it that the coaching staff loves Allen so far.

But I think it’s Breece simply based on talent.

I would go Bijan. I think he will be playing on a winning team with playmakers all around him to spread things out. Falcons seem like they are "all in" for 2024.

I just have a bad feeling about the Jets. The "buzz" is not there like it was in 2023. Feels like the mob is ready to pounce on Aaron Rogers and blame him for everything as soon as it collapses next Monday night. Breece might be playing in a very bad situation ROS.

Idk. He put up numbers last year w bad QB play and coming back from the knee. Even if Rodgers underperforms, it would still be an upgrade from last year.

Still Hall regardless of format. I’ve seen him do it. Bijan is still TBD.

If it’s a coin flip I’m going with track record.
Best rushing season for each of them is within 20 yards. They have both had one complete season. Breece has 7 more career games so track record isn't really the argument is it? Either way, I'd take Breece by a nose hair in all formats also.

In a senseless world, I’m awarding the tiebreaker to the dude who won me my 1st championship in 8 years over the dude who’s presence seemed to curse my other team last year. Thank you, Breece Hall.

Had the same choice in my non-ppr league and i choice Bijan. It's didn't help that the beat writer for ATL was on the radio claiming it's all Bijan running with the 1's including goal line. When he was asked about another reporters report of a 60/40 split with 30 carriers, he said more like 25/5 based upon what he has seen, I agree with another poster that the Jets schedule is brutal and ATL has one of the easiest. You can't go wrong either way (well you can) and Hall probably has the higher floor at this point. But...I think Bijan has a higher ceiling and better game scripts so I took him. i haven't had another opportunity to counter with Hall in another draft yet, but I'm comfortable with my choice.

Breece is the superior talent and also isn't in any type of timeshare
Timeshare argument works in the courtroom. Superior talent? Very debatable. Both are elite talents no question.
I think the Jets have a very good run-blocking OL, and I know they’re committed to running the ball, and I know Hall is a perfect fit for their system to the point that they had absolute garbage at QB & were still successful running the ball.

ATL is a big TBD on both. We can guess what that OL will be like, what the run/pass balance will be like, and whether Bijan fits the scheme, but we just don’t know for sure.

These are the factual reasons why I lean Breece. So close tbough

I had that decision today at pick 4 and took Breece. I'm a Jet fan, so all else being equal that tips it. But I would have taken Breece regardless - there's something special there. I grabbed Allen in the 15th.

I have them neck and neck and I think the only way you’re going to be disappointed with choosing one over the other is a significant injury.

I recently spent half of my total budget($100 total) on the two in an auction draft so I’m all in on both of them being monsters.

Gun to head and I had to just pick one, I’d lean Bijan, and I made that pick a few drafts before the auction one. But really, flip a coin. They are both two of the best prospects at the position we’ve ever seen.

I would worry about that monster vulturing enough TDs from Hall that he becomes just ordinary for fantasy.

Well, as predicted, the entire question became moot two minutes into the draft, as the people ahead of me went CMC/Breece, so I took Bijan.

Let's hope this works out like in 2017, when I was picking second in a consensus Top Two draft (David Johnson and Lev Bell). I wasn't sure who I would have picked, but I didn't have to worry about that, since all I had to do was take whoever didn't go first. DJ injured his wrist in Week 1 while Bell led me to a championship (not that I'm wishing injuries on CMC or Breece).

Meanwhile, the only downside to having Bijan is that I also drafted Brian Robinson, which means I will have to double check my lineup every week to make sure I didn't accidentally switch them
