Brees a Saint? (1 Viewer)

So after meeting with New Orleans, Brees seemed to like their offer, but wanted to test the market one more time in Miami. I guess the Dolphins didnt like Brees' demands, or vice versa... so is it a done deal? Is Brees headed to Nawleans?

I'm really surprised since N.O. was in prime position to draft a QB. Will they trade down now? Draft Ferguson?

I smell a Detroit possibility too.

Just signed Kitna and Joey just demanded a trade.
Do you mean Harrington to N.O. or Brees to Detroit? Surely the Saints would draft Lienert over signing Harrington...surely...

Schefter just reported done deal - Brees to Saints
wow. this is a radical shift in the saints fortunes. payton's tenure will be directly linked to Brees' effectiveness on the field.

good for the Saints.

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the New Orleans Saints have reached a six-year deal with free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers). Financial terms of the deal are not yet available.

I really suspect Minnesota comes knocking with a nice contract for Mr. Brees.

Reports coming out otherwise at this time.

So, $60 million total with $10 million guaranteed? Is that a better deal, money-wise, than what they would have paid Leinart? Edit to add: alex smith got 6 years at $50 million with $24 million guaranteed. likely leinart would have garned something comparable, if not exceeding that.
