Brett Favre quote on KRob (1 Viewer)

I got this off of CBS Sportsline, so I'm not sure where it was posted, but a good quote from Favre on KRob.

Packers QB Brett Favre said the Packers must improve their running game and pass protection in order to get better. But the offense could get a boost this week, because recent roster addition Koren Robinson is expected to begin playing wide receiver after working only as a kick returner against the Saints. Favre supports Robinson, who was signed by the Packers last week after he was charged with drunken driving and cut by the Minnesota Vikings last month. "The first night he got here, I think I was the only one in the locker room," Favre said. "He got in that evening, was kind of getting settled in in his locker and stuff, and I just told him, 'Great to have you.' There's no doubt he's a great talent. And I think most of us know what he brings, on and off the field."
After Week 1 one of the staff here (Dodds I think, I forget) made a comment on one of the subscriber material that Koren Robinson has a potential to be an impact player if he is able to postpone his trial till the end of the season. I bought into it and picked him up after week 1 in a fairly deep league cause I really really need help at the WR spot. I know he is due in court twice in October, so we won't know where his legal troubles are taking him. And yea, Green Bay looks terrible right now. But as the article points out, it's a new system for all of them. Possible sleeper? He could be a huge pick up within a couple of weeks if he can stay out of jail.

I'm guessing there's very few quarterbacks in the league that will be as 'understanding' with Krob as Mr. Favre.

LOL, i didn't know they had a smily for driving. hell, half the league are drunks, they're just smart enough rich enough to hire a driver. granted krob was is stupid, he can still help my fantasy team if he can stay on the field.

How is he even playing? I thought this was his 3rd strike?
I'll admit to not paying attention at all to this situation, but I'm in the same  boat. Can someone give a cliffs notes version? I just know a month ago (roughly) he was busted and was looking at a year suspension. What happened between now and then?

Vikes dumped him, Packers signed him, league probably won't take action until after the courts do.

Another way to look at Koren's typical evening progression would be the following:

 :banned:  :banned: :) :banned: :D :banned:  :banned: :loco: :drive: :wall:

When all the while he should have been like: :help:

There's a better shot of Jennings overtaking Driver as the 1 than "K-Rob" overtaking Jennings as the 2.
I guess there is zero chance of either taking place then.
:yes:You don't replace a guy who is perhaps the best rookie WR in this class, on a rebuilding team, with an alcoholic who won't even be an active member in the league come November.

This is his second arrest. the first time he got in trouble in Seattle was a team suspension in 2004. The first time he was suspended from the league was his first arrest, also in Seattle, in 2005. So technically this is two strikes, third time he's been in trouble. None of this is verified, this is just the impression I got from reading a few articles this week.

Brett said a whole bunch of nothing in that statement. And if it were something that was really pimping KRob as a player, I'd have to sit back and reflect on his preseason comments before I considered taking them as having any value at all

I really feel like this is, as far as talent is concerned, the most talented team that I’ve been a part of as a whole.

If K-Rob did not drive he may be an all-pro WR in Seattle by now.
Hey, I never thought of it that way... Krob's problem isn't that he drinks too much. It's that he drives too much! :D

If KRob becomes the #2 WR for the Packers, then the Packers will have:

Donald Driver and Drunken Driver as their top 2 wideouts

I will be here all week. Please tip the waitresses on the way out :D

I hope he shows up to a game drunk as all hell. The packers are so desperate to bring in this guy. driving drunk, doing a 100 mph with the cops chasing him. He could have easily killed someone. Any regular person would be in jail right now.

Is KRob still doing KR's for the Packers? I know they are planning to use him in the #3 or 4 WR slot, but I hope he is still doing KR's. My league awards 1 point for every 15 return yards. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

He was in treatment. The NFL doesn'r have to wat for court as he violated treatment.
