Brett Favre vs. SF Week 14 (1 Viewer)

To date 9ers are ranked 28 against the pass and are allowing 239yds per game and have given up 18tds.

HOWEVER, the last 4 games, the 9ers have allowed 292.25 yards per game and have given up 7tds.

I expect Brett to have a huge day in what might be a shoot out.

Thoughts?

I am more hoping than expecting. I am starting Favre over Rivers and Flacco this week. I really think Flacco might have a big game but I am afraid to use him over Favre.

Outstanding matchup on paper. And on paper, Favre, Cotchery, Coles and Keller are all looking great.

Favre has a little less trust with me after not delivering at home against a bad Denver defense last week. But this matchup is outstanding and weather shouldn't be an issue.

Thomas Jones is a must start against any defense. I'd say Keller is too based on how well he's playing too. But this should be a game which sees Favre, Cotchery and Coles all deliver.

I also like Hill and Bruce this week since the Jets' pass defense is awful. I think this game will feature plenty of points.

I don't know if you're a Coles owner as I am, but the guy has been driving me nuts. He delivered against the tough Ten D, and hasn't shown up against lesser Ds like Denver. I'm starting Favre with confidence, but Coles scares me to death.

I hear ya. He's been frustrating. Cotchery too though he's been more consistent in PPR leagues. I think this is such a good matchup that both Cotchery and Coles will do well. I wouldn't consider Coles a must start by any means and wouldn't start him over someone who's been producing well and more consistently, but I do like both Jets WRs this week and I think they'll both do well and possibly very well. I just don't see the Niners stopping Favre nor do I think the Jets will stop the Niners' passing game.

SF are pretty tough against TE's. I wonder if this is a concern for Keller or a buck the trend sort or matchup.

He should scare you. His role is diminishing while Keller's is increasing. I'm sitting Coles for Bruce without hesitation.

I'm rolling with Coles based on matchup alone. My alternative is VJax who put up a bagel last week and now faces the OAK secondary.

Coles was blanketed by Dry Bly and was often doubled the whole Denver game. Denver for some reason made Coles their focal point on defense and it could have cost them if Cothery didn't have an unusually bad game.

I'm sitting him too. I have CJ and AJ although AJ's projections for this week are lower than coles'. My flex is either coles, hixon, pthomas or Sammy Morris. If Coles has a good game it will be on my bench.

I think about 250, 2 TDs, and 1 INT are about a lock. With the upside of a 300yd 3 TD day if they lean on the pass more than the run. IMO the 250 and 2TD is closer to what to expect as I don't see SF really killing the Jets D enough to force Favre to have to pass more.

I am in the same situation with Farve. He seems like a sure start on paper but my other choice is Ryan v NO. I might have to go with Ryan as he seems to be more consistent than Farve. they will probably score just about the same with Farve maybe having a little higher ceiling.

Wouldn't we have said the same thing against Denver? Kansas City? Cincinnati? Those are teams he should have torched, but instead Jones torched the run D and Favre was mediocre or bad. I'm starting him (over Shaun Hill) and pretty confident he'll outperform Hill, but I'm starting to think there's no such thing as a "lock"' with Favre this year.

As of now I'm sitting Coles for Holmes and Hixon (at WR 2 & 3), but packersfan is making me wonder...

I have a hard time trusting Farve anymore..too erratic. Take away his 6 TD game which was a fluke and his numbers are not ver ygood. Three games with a TD pass and awalys assured to thow an INT or two. Plus Farve used to throw short TDs passes but now it seems they ryn the ball more. They had third and goal from the six two weeks ago and ran it right up the guy for two yerds.

I'm going batchit trying to decide between him and flacco this week.
