Brett Favre (1 Viewer)

Sounds like another Bear fan. :) Most pass attempts in NFL history too you are bound to have interceptions. If you knew your stats and football you would know this is not a huge deal really. Hell Marino threw 252 in his career, 25 more over 15 years is such a HUGE deal isn't it...

So tired of announcers, reporters, and supposed NFL gurus that are clueless about this but oh well Favre is so "reckless" he earned it.

Yeah so what if several of those pics cost them a playoff game, BFD

lol @ the Favre/GB groupies (PS I like GB generally). He is a great QB but he is also (even by his own admission) too wreckless w/the ball more than a little.

Anyway - who had the record, Blanda?

Wow... someone is a little sensitive today. The OP said nothing derogatory whatsoever.

Nah just when you hear it ad naeseum for the last 3-4 weeks it just gets old. That and the officials in the Pack-Wash game are driving me nuts today. Phantom holdings, picking up flags that would go against Washington. Poor officiating just gets me going, it's the one thing your team has no control over. No excuse for W's and L's but I'm just ADD today and want a win bad!!

Yeah Blanda had it with about half the attempts but it was a much different game back then and he played forever too. Too bad he couldn't of had a scoreboard message for Favre this week. Thanks for taking that one from me Brett, I really appreciate it!!Oh and a playoff game loss or two, no big deal, if not for Brett would they have even been in the playoffs??? Yes he is wreckless but if you look at stats, look at the top 10 in attempts for instance, half of them had a higher interception percentage than Farve did.

this is a very hot-button topic.

Favre set the INT record. Lets face it, even that is a testament to his greatness. He also extended his consecutive start streak. He just broke his own record for most wins by a QB. Tacked on some more to his passing attempts and passing completions records. And is continuing to close in on Marino's passing yards mark. Thank you, Brett. Thank you.

Steve Young said it best, when the Packers have been trailing big and the outcome long decided, Favre is still throwing when other QBs mail it in and refuse to throw anything but dump offs to avoid picks. The guy throws INTs because he refuses to give in. And it's why he one of the best to ever play the position. People who try to use that statistic to somehow show that he's either overrated or not amongst the all-time best are either fishing or mindless. Especially Bears fans. We all know that they'd kill to have had this guy for even 1 year out of the past 15.

For those trying to guess what Blanda had to say about all this..

"Some people, when they're down two touchdowns and there's five minutes to play, they just keep throwing those short passes out in the flat," said Blanda. "And they move the ball down the field and they don't score! So all you do is run the time off the clock and your numbers look good."

"And then there are other quarterbacks like Brett and mys . . . well, I am not going to compare myself with him. But . . . I know that watching him the last two or three years, he doesn't have the team around him. And the only way you can win is to try to make a big play. So you try to make 'em. If you don't make 'em, you're going to lose anyways. So you might as well try them."

He hit the nail right on the head.

Favre through alot of interceptions because he forces the ball. He's not the type to sit back and take what they give you. He will win a game on his own and lose a game on his own. He's the opposite of a game manager type QB.

Favre will take you to the promised land, but he will also hurt you with his over aggressiveness. Depending on the team behind him, this is either a good thing or a bad thing. It's a good thing for the current version of the Packers, but I wouldn't want him on the Baltimore Ravens Superbowl team.

He is the Phil Mickelson of football.

"Favre's most impressive statistic in this ultimate team sport is that Green Bay owns the NFL's highest winning percentage (.625) since he took the helm 15 years ago this month." - Scripps Howard News Service on September 28th, 2007I'd say he's won a hell of a lot more playing it this way than he's lost.

If Favre were the QB of the Ravens Super Bowl winning team, that might have been one of the 10 best teams all time. As things stand that Ravens team might have been one of the weakest Super Bowl winners ever.

The Scientist said:
 He now owns the TD and INT record :tfp:
Easy record to get. You just have to play long enough. Not sure he's even in the top 20 in interceptions per attempt. Brady or Manning could possibly break the record if they play long enough.
