Brian Robiskie?!?! What is the deal? (1 Viewer)

I'm in a deep 16 team IDP Dynasty league.

He was dropped by an owner this week to make room for a big trade (He took him in the 2nd rd of our Rookie Draft ).

Do you guys think he is a good Dynasty pick up? I don't need any help at WR this yr but I have some old guys and will need to refuel soon :-)

Drop him. He hasn't even been active for the Browns in games this year. Even if he does get playing time, he has very limited upside. More of a possesion receiver.

Why the Browns took him at the top of the second round is a mystery. He is a subpar athlete, and that is coming from a Browns/Buckeyes fan.

Let me add that if you are on the Browns and you are not seeing time on the offensive side of the ball, then you got a long road ahead of you.

:goodposting: Just look at brady quinn and jerome harrison, there was obviously a reason they wernt getting playing time

I haven’t been following Robiskie all that closely lately, so I can’t speak specifically about him.

However, his situation sounds a bit like Earl Bennett’s from last year. Not the most physically gifted player, but pretty well polished overall, and playing on a team where there is some opportunity to win playing time at WR. While things looked like Bennett might see some decent PT last year, he didn’t even suit up for a long time and then never caught a pass all season. – And now this year he is starting.

This isn’t to say that Robiskie will be starting or even playing a lot for CLE next year, but I see some definite similarities in their situations as rookies.

I play IDP redraft.

Just curious - how big are your roster sizes in Dynasty?

I'd like to join a Dynasty league next year, it sounds fun.

Anyway, if you have room to keep a lot of players on the bench, I just don't see any justification for giving up on a rookie after just two games. Sure, he plays for Cleveland, but there's always the chance he gets traded, right?

He won't be getting traded. He's stuck there....and they aren't looking like a team on the rise.18 man dynasty along with a 2 man rookie squad that can't be used unless brought onto the 18 man squad.

Agreed. Really bad advice. Hey, if you have room for a WR that might not do much, grab him. Fact is, any WR that doesn't do anything as a rookie, there's some thread in here with a bunch of posters running him down. Any guy who plays in a dynasty league, and drops a 2nd round pick after two games, I think very little about his managerial skill.

 I won the auction on him in a new 40-roster position + 4-man rookie taxi-squad IDP league and couldn't be happier. He's got impeccable NFL bloodlines (Terry Robiskie is his dad, and he's the WR coach for the Falcons - you think Robiskie might have learned some things from his old man?) and is positioned to be the next-high-draft-pick-QB-by-the-Browns' best friend in training camp next year. Dudes, nobody is prying him away from me in any of the dynasty or keeper leagues where I drafted him for my rookie squad.

My IDP Dynasty League has a roster size of 40 with 20 starters and 5 spots on the PS.

Robo was looking solid in preseason until he dropped 3 passes in a row. After that, the coaches were really down on him. He's in the doghouse for some reason.

I wouldn't drop him yet. The browns suck, and will quickly be 0-3 after Sunday. The team will be trying to make changes, and I can see the rooks getting some playing time. Furrey and Cribbs are not the WR answer.

Also, Edwards has a very good chance of being out of Cleveland next year so a lot can change. I never expected to start Robiskie this year anyway but some playing would make me feel better about him for next season.

It is not bad advice. Robeskie has a very low ceiling. He will be nothing but a posession receiver in the NFL. He was nothing but a possession receiver in college. I am a Buckeyes fan and watched every game Robo has ever played. He just isn't athletic enough. And the fact that the "most NFL ready receiver in the draft" isn't even active on gamedays for one of the worst teams in the league is just proof of that.Cutting a second round pick in a 16 team dynasty league doesn't say anything bad about the guy who drops him. It shows what a bunch of idiots the Browns are for drafting him so high.
