How are these guys still employed in the NFL as coordinators. Neither are worth a darn, but they keep getting jobs. I don't get it. Look up the rankings of their offenses and defenses for each year both have been OC and DC; mediocre in both cases, outside of the occasional good ranking, yet they are still employed in the NFL as coordinators.

I agree. They are horrible but still get employed. If the Skins retain Haslett I am done with them! (ok, not really, but trying to make a point here)

I think GM's tend to go with the safe pick (known guy) and in turn the pressure falls more on the coaches. If you hand pick a guy that nobody expected and he falls flat on his face you then become the guy in question more so then other way around.

I don't agree with this stratagey at all and loved the Bears getting Trestman as their coach. It has already paid plenty of dividends this season.

Ha, boy, Jim Haslett, ex-Saints HC, amazingly still rocking the coach's headset. Haslett had his own little Incognito/Martin imbroglio in NO. He made his rep off of those Steelers' defenses back in the day and as we all know that was the Steelers' incredible system. Sorry Redskins fans.

Only twice in the last 20 years has the Steelers defense not finished in the top 10 in total defense, and they were in two of Haslett's three years.

Granted, finishing 11th and 12th was no shame at all those two years, but when you look at how great their defense was before he got there and after he left, it was definitely more about the great talent they had than Haslett, who has proven since to be a ####ty DC. His defenses in St. Louis sucked, and his defenses in Washington have sucked.

I'll be glad if the Skins get rid of Haslett. Never been impressed with him during his time here. This team has some holes on defense, no question about that. But there is some good talent there with Kerrigan, Orakpo, Hall, Bowen, Cofield, and Riley. I think a 3-4 is not what suits this team best. Though it sounds like Shanny is the one pushing the 3-4. Haslett definitely needs to go though.
