"Broad City" on Comedy Central (1 Viewer)

Anybody watching this?

Didn't expect much when it premiered, but these broads are pretty funny. Especially last week's episode.

I've really enjoyed it so far, it's quickly become one of my favorite shows....so much so that I've started watching the web series. They're pretty funny as well. Not sure how I'd never heard of them before.

It's amazing to see how far they've come in a few years. The web series looks like it was filmed with a handycam.

Bumping this for others to see. Truly funny show. I started watching it because it came on after Workaholics, but this show is a good deal more funny that Workaholics.

Great episode. Not quite as good as last week, but still very good.

I lost it at "I must be craving pink ****"

"The only thing better than pink **** is black ****" "Sometimes I think that you are so non-racist, it seems like you are a little bit racist"

I was dying when they were walking through the UES.

"I'm fine with the tsunami...but not St. Bart's. Anywhere but St. Bart's."

"My youngest son is such a disappointment...he goes to Cornell."

Good show. Loves me some Hannibal Burris
Is that Lincoln?

Loved the non-chalant phone call..."they just found a dead girl on Ryker's Island....was it Abbi?"

And "I just baked a whole cake....and then ate a whole cake......Don't worry, I got another one cooking..."

Yup. He's a comedian that's sort of blowing up right now. Has a part on Chozen and is on the Eric Andre Show as well. Also had a part on a commercial in GTA V.

I hadn't heard of him before (I'm always late finding out about comedians). Very funny on the show.

BTW, each week I'm starting to look forward to whatever over-the-top trashy outfit Ilana will end up in. I love those legs.

Not the funniest of episodes, but solid. I just like the characters, so it doesn't need to be huge laughs all the time.

It was a very touching moment when Ilana got the crushing news about Abbi making out with Darcy.

The back of the truck seen was pretty funny though.

And the end when Ilana dropped a carpet/hardwood floor joke when revealing it wasn't her first time in that strip club.

Are we supposed to think that Ilana is in love with Abbi, or that she thinks that hooking up with her best friend would be one more cool thing to do?

My take is that she's just incredibly close to Abbi, and probably never had too many close girlfriends. She probably interprets those feelings of wanting to close like a friend as a little sexual.

As this episode shows, she's also a little insecure about it, so the crushing part was just that Abbi shared such an intimate moment with somebody else.

Or maybe I'm completely overthinking it and it's just funny schtick.

She's definitely serious about wanting a little parallel play though.

I think this is the funniest show on TV these days. The Ilana's mom/strap on episode followed by the Val episode confirmed it for me. Season 1 was great, but this season is on another level.

I lost my #### when Abbi stepped out with the dong flopping.

They are really in a groove and making it look easy right now. The whole FOMO/Val episode was all so perfect for the characters.

I like this season better overall, but the moment in Season 1 with Ilana on the subway with a curtain rod was the hardest I laughed since George Michael with the jetpack in Arrested Development.

I did some googling after watching the FOMO episode. Never would have guessed but apparently they like to do Community-style continuity bits or easter eggs or whatever you want to call them. Garol (the yogurt-eater from the package pickup place) was at the Val bar, and in the season opener scene in the subway people were calling Abbi "Val" as they passed by.

I concur. I think Broad City is the funniest show on TV right now.

The Ilana's mom episode was amazing. Might have been the best comedy episode of the year. I didn't love this week's quite as much, but I think this is probably the top comedy on TV right now.

Did the pegging/Ilana's mom episode air on the same night as "Charlie Work"? If so, what an un-freaking-believable night of television. I've watched each 3 times.

Yeah. My dvr gets packed each Wednesday night. Still record Workaholics but this show is soooo much better.

On a recent Bill Simmons podcast, he had Alan Sepinwall on. When he asked Sepinwall his favorite show on TV right now, his response was Broad City without any hesitation. Simmons, of course, had never heard of it.

Only Broad City can pull off a scene with a character enthusiastically telling the prohibitive favorite to be the next President of the United States that she pegged.

Great episode. Nice to see them outside of NYC and get a little backstory. It was like a whole episode of of course's. Of course, Abbi's dad is Tony Danza. Of course, Abbi was hacky sacking suburban faux hippie that loved jam bands. Of course, Ilana is a beanie baby kingpin.

Ilana's fully engorged camel toe was a nice touch, as well.
