Bronco Defense for real? (1 Viewer)

They did get decent pressure... but the Bengals had a lot of open receivers drop the ball.
The Bengals should have plastered 40 on the Broncos. They didn't due to a lot of sloppy play, but they moved the ball at will. The Bronc's have a few really good D players, but aren't that good a team. Interestingly enough they get to face another Ohio division II team next week, so they have a decent shot at being 2-0. Week 3 they face the Raiders. So, the schedule makers were very kind to Denver the first month of the season.Week 4 they play the Cowboys. Week 5 they play the Patriots. We'll see what type of team they are after those two games.

I think you're confusing "only had 1 first down the entire second half before they went on their game-winning drive" with "moved the ball at will".That said, no, the Broncos defense is not for real. Neither is the Bengals offensive line.

Agreed, but they are a better defense than last year. At least their moving in the right direction. By better, I mean that they will get more pressure on the QB and thus probably more turnovers. They are still going to get burned at times, but I am liking the baby steps of improvement so far. I think Mike Nolan has been good for this defense.

The Broncos got an INT off a tip ball and a hail mary ...

They sacked Palmer 3 times...

Cinci wasn't able to rush effectively but that has more to do with their oline then the Denvers dline,

Held Cinci to 5-15 in 3rd down conversion (33%)

It was probably a combination of both...

I think they have moved up into the 15-25 range...worse than average, but not bottom of the league. Major improvement from last year.
