Brooks (1 Viewer)

Yes, that is accurate. More evidence Cincy really wants to get to a 3-4 base D.
 Wow.

RoF is right. We're at the tipping point here. If Pollack can prove himself at OLB, the Bengals find a NT out of the mess that's there, and they get 2004 version of Brooks you will be looking at a 3-4 in 2007. Shouldn't be too difficult to find a couple of 3-4 ends fairly cheaply by next season. Still a little early to speculate success for a 3-4 this year, though.

Really interesting for Justin Smith owners though. Guy goes into a contract year all but knowing he'll be playing for another team next season.

So much for Marvin's comments about paying more attention to character before this year's draft, though........

So does this mean that Thurmans value drops by next season as well? Even as a WSILB I would think he will have much less opportunites for tackles and plays then as a MLB in a 4-3??

No way to tell today. It'll depend on the type of 3-4 installed, where Thurman aligns, and the ability of the NT (and DEs) to keep him free from blocks. I'd drop him in dynasty startups a little, but remember, Brooks hasn't exactly inspired confidence over the past 18 months.

So do you guys think he has a chance to start this year?  And if he does start will will he line up?  What's his dynasty value?
Don't see him starting in any 4-3 looks this season. He'll probably get some time in a few 3-4 looks and he'll have to produce on special teams.Dynasty value is tied to where he lines up in the 3-4. I suppose he could also work as an OLB as well, but he's been pegged as an ILB by most scouts. Interested to see what Marvin has to say.

Value would've been much, much higher in SF.

WELL...no sooner than I finish my reply than Cincinnati sports talk radio reports Thurman is suspended for the first four games of the season.

What a beautiful sports day in the Nati.   :wall:
