Browns cut Stallworth..next destination? (1 Viewer)

My first guess would be BAL.

Not saying he's great, just that he'd give the Ravens more flexibility going into the draft.

Sadly, I think he won't be out of an NFL job for very long.

Regardless of off-field issues, Stallworth always seems to show just enough promise to get teams interested before eventually disappointing in the end.

Hard to see him getting big money at this stage of his career.
I can see Mike Brown giving him a call.
Depends on if he's still got speed. If he can stretch defenses you may be right. Still he wasn't exactly tearing things up his last year in Cleveland. Seems like a training camp guy for whoever grabs him.-QG

Slight hijack...who gets a job first, Matt Jones or Stallworth?
I am thinking Stallworth. For whatever reason, teams are not biting on Jones and while what he did was bad, others have done worse and come back. Stallworth also played for more teams/coaches and as those guys spread out, they may take a chance on him (versus Jones who played for one team (which bad mouthed him) and less coaches).

Agent Drew Rosenhaus said Tuesday that receiver Donte' Stallworth, who was reinstated Sunday night and cut by the Browns on Monday, will be working out for an unnamed NFL team on Wednesday.

Per a league source, that team is the Lions.

Stallworth entered the league as a first-round draft pick in 2002. The Lions used a first-round pick on wideouts in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2007.

Stallworth was suspended for the entire 2009 season after pleading guilty to felony DUI manslaughter. He spent 2008 with the Browns, 2007 with the Patriots, and 2006 with the Eagles. In his first four seasons, he played with the Saints.

The Lions have no shame...sign him!!

It was just a lucky guess but he's in a position to do very well. It seems like they have to talk Mason into playing for them every offseason. Clayton/Williams/Washington all seem better suited as a #3/#4 WR. Heap/Rice are quality targets in the short passing game allowing Stallworth to have a well defined role in the offense and hopefully keeping him on the field often.I think he's a pretty good sleeper this season but I'm a bigger fan of Flacco than most. I hope they draft a WR on day 1 and it tempers the expectations people have for Stallworth so you can get him cheap.
