Browns D should be improved by a quantum leap in 2006, their second year in Crennel's 3-4. In '05 they had problems everywhere -- undersized NT, little pass rush, and depleted secondary.
They have added Ted Washington inside, who has shown himself to be legit in preseason. If he is able to stay healthy, he will be an immense upgrade! (Nick Eason, 2nd yr., is back-up.)
They added Willie McGinest and #1 pick Kameron Wimbley at OLB. Wimbley has been tremendous thus far. Another rookie (early 2nd rnd pick) D'qwell Jackson is pushing for the other ILB job alongside the stellar Andra Davis. The scoop on DJ is that he's a tackling machine, but suffers in coverage.
The secondary gets their starting CB's back, and now have three legit starters. The safeties are young (2nd, 3rd yr) and gaining experience. Note that they were ALL (CBs) held out of the Chicago preseason game & it showed!
I expect HUGE things from the D this year. The weaknesses I foresee are pass coverage out of the rookie LBs, and run support out of the young safeties.
