Browns@Packers (1 Viewer)

Brady looks pretty good. He missed Cribbs on a 3rd down, but I think a better WR would have gotten it. FG. Nothing thrown at Edwards.

 
Browns only rushing 3 so far, which is giving Rodgers plenty of time.

And I guess going for it on 4th & 6 is an easy call when ST has sucked so bad in camp.

 
Derek Anderson has just looked terrible. Int one play after nearly an int. On his first drive he threw a pass backwards on what should have been a swing pass to Harrison.

I've never been a Quinn cheerleader, but I'll be shocked if he doesn't get the #1 spot.

One of the more interesting preseason games actually. Get to see Quinn/Anderson, WR competition opposite Braylon, Jones/Nelson for GB WR3, and my main man DeShawn Wynn.

He looks like #3 after Brandon Jackson.Quinn tearing it up in the 2 minute drill.

It's just one preseason game, but so far it looks Grant, Jackson, Deshawn skill level wise
 
1st half summary

Packers will be in the playoffs - draft any and all of the starters

Cleveland - 3 wins will be a good season - stay away from all of them

To be fair, I already expected them to be terrible. Their secondary is extremely bad, their front is mediocre, their lead tailback is running on fumes and the one weapon they have in the passing game is completely unreliable.

I really enjoy the FBG podcastsbut every time they talk about the Packers they're buzzing about Wynn and Lumpkin (lol and superlol) and I just shake my head. Pretty sure this site hyped Jackson last season too.

As a Browns fan I've never been more disappointed (and I've been disappointed lots) than the offseason after DAs good year when they decided not to trade him. Was seriously hoping they could grab a 2nd round pick for him, maybe a bit more. Instead here we are 2 years later where I, and half of Cleveland fans, knew where we would be.
 
re: Brohm I have no idea how something like not being able to hold a football was not apparent in scouting.

edit: That said, Rodgers never looked like much in preseason action his first couple years.

no doubt...I mean many said he was the most NFL ready of the QBs last year...but wow...just bad.I guess this is why nobody touched him til the Pack in the 2nd.

 
Random thoughts from the Packers first pre-season game:

- Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy finally have a roster with great depth

- Passing game is going to be dangerous

- Running game will be as good as the offensive line will allow it to be, which may be an issue vs. good defenses

- The defense is going to get after the quarterback if it's the last thing they do...resulting in more forced fumbles, sacks, and probably some big plays given up

- Crosby may have missed for 60 but his leg strength wasn't the issue, wow

- The Browns suck - they are going to need a miracle to win 7 games
