Does "Bucco" mean "The Legend", "The Savior" or "The Chosen One" in some other language or something?

It appears to be a play off the word "Buccaneer" which is what the NFL team located in Tampa has as a mascot.So to answer your question - yes?
 
Bucco is the name of the dude on the old helmets. I guess Bucco Bruce = orange jerseys and crappy football.
