-Playoff level football game but more of a Wildcard affair vs the prime cut in a couple of other match ups that will be going on at the same time.
Tough decision for a lot of fans all wanting to watch DET-BUF, PIT-PHI at the same time this game is going on

GO!

Should be a fun game
Herbert's a warrior
Baker is an Energizer Bunny
Chargers need Herbert more since their running game has petered a bit since JK went down
Bucs are running the ball well
This game could bs a sneaky high scoring affair
I'll go with that
And say...

Chargers- 34
Bucs- 33

I think this is gonna be a bit of an ugly game. Both defenses matchup pretty well with the other offense. I think the difference in this game could be Justin Herbert's mobility, and that's assuming his leg is fine, as it sounded like it was no biggie for him. I expect a lower scoring game, and one that probably disappoints for the fantasy playoffs.

Chargers-24
Bucs-17

So much for the Chargers vaunted defense. Fewer PA in the NFL by far until today. Then a thirty-seven burger at home against the f-ing Bucs?

Happy the Bucs are kicking Harbaugh's butt and showcasing his shortcomings with a superior QB
Harbaugh didn't inherit a scrub at QB
-He gave him very little to work with all season

Sincerely,
Bucs fan happy to get the win today
GO RAIDERS!!!

Chargers should be on their 5th offensive coordinator in Herbert's NFL career next season.
Bolts will be vastly improved in 2025. Heck they were this season.

And they have bubkus around Herbert not named Ladd. They will have a ton of cap room heading into this offseason and another draft.

They are on the right track.

Unless they ruin Herbert's health first, which they seem committed to doing.

I must say
Win or lose
Baker's Bucs are much more fun to watch than Brady's Bucs
Uhhh idk man I had a lot of fun watching that Super Bowl and 13-4 season.
It's a different kind of fun. Still incredibly fun to always win, but it feels so very Bucs and/or Florida man to be the irrelevant underdog nobody talks about and then manage to win. I think a significant amount of us, me included, enjoy that feeling a little more or at least equally. Those Brady teams had expectations and were media darlings. These Baker teams haven't been talked about as serious contenders much at all and constantly got **** on in the off-season yet still come out smelling like roses. So far...

Mostly healthy Bucs team will be dangerous in Dec/Jan.

What a great 2nd half for the good guys today! Baker needs to cleanup the INT's but that offense is humming.

And I want @Grahamburn in on this as well, we have other Bucs fans around here but you all post consistently and I also root for the Bucs against any team minus the Phins and that's kind of negotiable. I've actually watched the Bucs win 2 Super Bowls in my lifetime, the 2002/2003 team will always hold a special place in my heart, so many HoF players from the Defense

I see and I hear a lot of upbeat posts and rightfully so but I still feel like the Bucs are quite a ways from getting back to another Super Bowl
I feel like they need at least 1 more Edge rusher that can get to the QB, doesn't always need to be a sack, like AVG from the Vikes and former Phins, guy just wrecks havoc all the time
Feels like the Bucs need something there and it leads to a secondary that I have questions about.

-Tell MoP he's wrong but one of the cornerstones of that 2020 Brady led team was the Secondary all on rookie deals, Bucs were able to focus their dollars on OL/DL and other places
Baker has proven they can win around him, just need to surround him with playmakers and also it pays to have a strong OL/Run game in front and behind him.
I still have concerns about Todd Bowles who is now likely back again as Head Coach...I do like the OC and the coaches on offense/OL, like the rookie Center, think he's done well

I'd like to hear your thoughts on expectations the rest of way
Bucs manage to get 3-seed, likely hosting Green Bay Wildcard Rd, that would be a good challenge for them, better than Philly coming in last season
If the Bucs win that game, they likely travel to Philly for a rematch of last year

-Also the Lions could fall out of the 1-seed, maybe they already did. Bucs could end up in Minnesota somehow, not the worst match up for the Bucs.
Tampa Bay one of the few teams to beat Detroit this season and also faced them twice in the last 12 months.

Lot to digest, welcome your alls thoughts
Cheers!

Yes, they need some EDGE rush help, but there also appears to be a philosophy on the type of player they draft under Bowles' schemes. When he has had the prototype in prime JPP and prime Shaq the defenses have been incredible. They haven't really tried to draft a traditional edge player. Bowles loves speed to power guys, and that's who they have drafted, that fill their rush lanes and can drop into coverage so he can disguise blitzes. He schemes the pressure. Since week 4 they're actually 2nd in the NFL in sacks believe it or not. They've dealt with significant back end injuries this season so haven't really been able to match up the pressure with the coverage. Opponents are winning too easily against coverage.

As far as Coen, he has been incredible. Being an OC and being a HC are very different jobs. I have had a lot of issues with Bowles' game management and time management over the years. Those continue to be questionable, and I do not think he is aggressive enough for today's NFL. There's no question that he is a leader of men though and that these players respect him. I hope we can manufacture a Ben Johnson situation where Coen is content getting paid low end HC money to continue to be the OC if Bowles decides to stay. Can't really fire the guy if he wins the division again.

That being said, this offense has a ton of talent on it right now even without Godwin. I expect him to return and now McMillan is finally emerging. Otton has improved as well. The line and run game are elite.

And as far as playoffs you just get in and then bring it. Nobody wants to play this team with their line and run game. Bowles has Hurts' number. Detroit is really beat up on defense. If they don't get the #1 seed I wouldn't be surprised if they go out in the Wild Card round. Darnold is probably going to wilt. Do you believe in Love?! Honestly if the Rams win the West they might be the best team overall in terms of offense, defense, coaching.
