Tampa Bay has signed Kansas City DE Jimmy Wilkerson to a 2 year contract.

I dont know much about Wilkerson. Can Chiefs fans tell me if this is a good signing for the Bucs?

Nothing exciting. Rotational end who can play inside and outside. Decent fit for Kiffin, but not an every down player and likely won't have the rotational impact the Bucs have gotten from Wyms, Haye, White, etal recently.

I always thought Wilkerson was average -- not above or below -- on just about all aspects of being a DE. Maybe slightly above average at run stopping and below average at rushing the passer ...

He never showed enough for KC to use him as anything other than a fresh body.

His greatest asset is that he can play under tackle as well. Not a star, just another cog, which is not necesarily a bad thing.
