Buffalo stole a 3rd round pick in the 2006 draft (1 Viewer)

Sure, hindsight is 20/20, but seeing how things ended up, I really don't like this trade at this moment in time. Henry played in 10 games (suspended four on a drug violation), only started one, rushed for 335 yards, 3.8 average, 0 ...ZERO TD's! Oh, he did, fumble twice, though. I remember one being in a key point during a game...might have eventually led to a loss  ... and the overall 4-12 record that Titans ended up with...and the 3rd pick in the draft! :excited: Henry went from goat to hero in the course of my own mind during me typing this...but I still think a 3rd round pick was/is RIP off. :hot: Thoughts?

What is worse is that if they had let Houston beat them in the 3rd to last game, they would have had the #1 pick.

I think the Bills knew of Henry's drug problem before they traded him and it might have been a factor in them drafting Willis McGahee. The thrid round pick is a RIP off for the Titans in hindsight but at the time when the deal was made I thought this was solid move for the Titans because of Chris Brown's injury history. I also believe that the Titans might cut Henry this offseason, I just can't see Fisher wanting to keep him around.

Slow down. The Titan team is a mess. Horrible D. Bad WR's. Suspect O-Line. The list goes on.The problem was that the organization believed they would be competitve in '06 and went after a front line RB in Henry instead of shoring up that D (or replacing Mason).

BTW: Chris Brown did not have a 100 yard game and averaged 3.8YPC (see something familiar). Every player on the roster sucked to some degree. Even Keith Bulluck looked bad at times.

Your rant rings hollow. Next.

It takes two to tango and the Bills didn't take anything that the Titans weren't willing to give.Move on.

I didnt like the trade when it was a 4th, and of course hate it now. However, Henry is due a large roster bonus that will have to be renegotiated this spring, and if they can get him to accept a good pay cut and keep him around, he might be able to get something done in 2006.He was in the doghouse all year after the suspension.

I'm still baffled at how quickly Henry became a shell of his former self. The guy was practically a stud his first few years with the Bills.

Keith Bulluck might have been the 2nd worst player on the D this year.

:fishing: on Bullock when he ended with 138 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 INT's...and led fan voting in the Pro Bowl. If he would have been on a team with a decent W-L record, he would be going to the Pro Bowl. As far as the rest of the D, the Titans need a couple decent players at saftety and one more on the D line. Otherwise, keep developing their very talented young WR corp, and add some help on the OL. The good news is, they now should be out of salary cap HELL in '06...They will be competitive next year with a few tweaks.

But, this thread is not about Bullock, or the rest of the team ...it's about Henry. :hijacked:

My point is, Buffalo ended up with a very high 3rd rounder for a ineffective RB that that is 1 failed drug test away from sitting out an entire season...

For what its worth, I recall reading that the Titans were aware of Henry's drug problems when they made the trade. But I am surprised as many are at the change in Henry over the last couple of years. He was a true workhorse for Buffalo early in his career. He was a real warrior rivaling McNair in his ability to play with injuries and pain. I didn't think it was a bad trade when it was made. But it sure looks bad now.
