Build Your Own CRM - Help? (1 Viewer)

Some basics - I currently work 5-10 leads a month. They are very warm leads. Usually through a referring partner. As of yet, I haven't had need to be organized beyond excel, word, and my inbox. But our company has grown, we are experiencing much higher volume of leads through our website, and quite frankly, to handle them well, I need a tool.

I've never used any CRM. Never worked high volume leads. All I need is a system/tool. We have industry specific tools that cost 2k+ with monthly fees. That's not happening.

I recently came across a company that had a build-your-own application process for small businesses. It had drag-and-drop modules to create your own programs. I can't for the life of me find it now. Don't remember the name.

If it matters, I'm in business sales. I sell businesses to people. As such, the sales process is more like a matchmaker/approval than closing a deal. We have applications, credit checks, multiple calls, information to give out etc. I'd like to find a tool, or build one, that could handle this.

Any thoughts are great appreciated.

Have you looked into any of the open source CRM offerings? I believe Sugar CRM is one of the most popular. Bitnami has some stacks that are very easy to install, configure and test.

Highrise is excellent for low cost.

Sales force is excellent if you have lots of stages.

Sugar is good for open source.

Thanks guys. We have Hirise but it's used for another dept.

Do any of these have a client interface whereby you can upload/unlock certain steps, forms, docs etc?

Reread ing this, you need Sharepoint. You can create a folder for each client or PPP, add sub folders, add check lists, calendars of events, etc.

I'm in need of something simple but secure for a team of 20 reps who have iPads and smartphones, but not laptops. I've used salesforce in the past and like it OK, but don't want to go for the Premium package if I want the ability to upload data. A search on this indicated that nutshell is a good alternative, but I don't know anyone using that, so I'm curious if someone has experience with this or others.

I don't care so much for the sales process and forecasting, etc. but I do want easy input of calls, notes, emails by the reps, and the ability to easily manage / input sales numbers on our customer universe.

Sorry for the slight hijack, but this thread is timely. TIA
