Bulger owners.....huddle up. (1 Viewer)

Bulger will take some hits, I know that for sure. But there is no way I bench him this week, the benefits of this matchup are too good to pass up. I'm hoping this is the week he puts up some decent numbers again. Brad Johnson was able to throw 3 TDs last week vs. Arizona, hopefully Bulger can do the same.

Remember that Bulger was able to finish last week's game after leaving before the half. I think he'll be fine.

I am concerned about Bulger for the rest of the year, not because of injury but because the focus on the running game. However, this week's matchup is too good to pass up.

With Bulger and Holt driving my car, I am more worried about Holt then Bulger. Las week SJax seemed to be open on every play for the check down after the o-line collapsed. It gave Bulger some yards. There were 2-3 plays that Bulger went to an open Holt deep downfield but overthrew him by a couple yards. If one of those passes connects, you're looking at a decent stat day from Bulger. Play him this week.

Glad to hear that, being a Holt owner. I was actually looking at sitting him for Horn this week as poor as his production has been the past five. :(

I think Bulger has a big game this week. Heck, I'm even considering starting him over Palmer vs the Ravens. I really don't think it's as easy a call as some might think. I'll probably still end up going with Palmer, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bulger outscores him this week.

Don't feel bad, I start them both. Holt was close to having a great day if Bulger had .5 seconds longer to throw. I'm calling a breakout(of slump) game for him this week.

Lucky enough (luck hell he's been on my bench all season) to have Romo, and not getting burned playing the matchup again. Romo gets the nod- amazing that that is such a no-brainer. Who'd of thunk it?

just picked up romo...I'll be starting romo.
I have Bulger and Romo too and right now I have Romo penciled in. I'm worried that the NYG will come to play and Romo will be neutralized. I do not see Arizona neutralizing the Rams or Bulger. Arizona is 0-5 on the road and has allowed 27.8 pts per game in those road games. 21@SEA32@ATL22@OAK31@GB31@MINNow it is very safe to say that the points and damage will mostly come from the running game. Check out these stats from Arizona's 5 road losses...@MIN 273 passing, 3 TD pass allowed, 1 rush TD allowed (150+ rush yards)@GB 180 passing, 1 TD pass allowed, 3 rush TD allowed@OAK 263 passing, 1 TD pass allowed, 1 rush TD allowed (200+ rush yards)@ATL 153 passing, 0 TD pass allowed, 1 rush TD allowed (250+ rush yards)@SEA 221 passing, 1 TD pass allowed, 2 rush TD allowed (140+ rush yards)Tough call that could go either way. STL could have 2 pass TD and 2 rush TD for all we know. Bulger is a safe pick, but will he be THE offense for STL? That's doubtful.

Bulger's stats are being significantly impacted by the weak O-line. They can't give him enough time for downfield routes to develop, so he's forced to check down to SJax.

The offensive philosophy is also taking away from the vertical attack - Rams have stressed taking care of the ball, so Bulger is quicker to dump it off to the RB. This can still be productive (SJax had 13/133 receiving vs. KC) but can also result in a lot of 4 yard gains.

I believe the Rams will move the ball and score but, like Wheel, am not convinced Bulger will put up big numbers.

Romo could end up having the opposite problem as Bulger- the Dallas running game is so effective it could eliminate the need to pass, particularly in the Red Zone. So far Dallas hasnt been shy but as the season wears on and the games get more critical we might see a more conservative Cowboys offense, and that would kill Romo.

I gotta say I'm nervous with him, have holt as well. Just picked up campbell for SOS and have a claim on Smith for his GB matchup... won't need it if I don't get a W this week though.

I think I'm starting bulger this week...... Go Bulger/Holt!!!

Good insight! The trend against Arizona as you can see is the ability to run the ball against them. Teams DONT NEED to rely on the pass so what is St. Louis goign to do this week? It's a lock that Bulger throws the ball 40 times even though the Rams have one of the best RB's in the league. If you look at Arizonas opponents and the backs that went for the big yardage, none of them have close to the talent SJAX has, yet all were able to produce HUGE days. So what will St. Louis coaches do? Run SJAX about 18 times (I guess they want to keep him fresh for the playoffs, ha!) and let Bulger throw for a couple td's while also getting sacked about 4 times and throwing a couple of picks. Because afterall it's about keeping everyone on the team happy and NOT doing what it takes to win.

i am concern one big hit and he is out of the game. are you plugging him in?
He's got a nice matchup but his ribs are injured and the amount of damage that he's taken does cause concern. I'm on a playoff bye this week so my points don't count but I sat him this week so I have an opportunity to go with my rookie QB Vince Young this week. Fingers crossed with Marc for next week but if VY has another big game I'd have welcome problem. :banned:
