Bulger the Ballsy? (1 Viewer)

I stole (wrong wording, but im in a rush) the following excerpt from a Rams chat forum from a user who listened to Bulger being interviewed yesterday. If you recall, Bulger did the same thing last year, and the team responded by playing very well down the stretch. Maybe his words this year will spark the same reaction:

from user:"They played a replay of Bulger on this morning with Smash. Bulger said they would both (Frerotte) be lucky to make it through this season with the OL in such a state of flux.

He also said that with the OL, WR's running wrong routes, and RB's and TE's not picking up blocks that Dan Marino or Joe Montana couldn't have done anything this past Sunday. He said Gus did a helluva job for what he had to go through.

Not knocking you here, you're just the messenger, but why is anyone calling it classy? Usually when someone does it he's roasted for throwing teammates under the bus, whether he was right or wrong in his comments.

Gracious toward Frerotte, but I don't suppose he did much for the morale of the OL. True or not, he might choose to be more tactful at least in front of the media.

Perhaps this was a measured response to teamates who are not giving the necessary effort needed to compete in the NFL.

It is not throwing teamates under the bus if they are running wrong routes and/or not giving the effort (be it during the game, or during practice, or the offseason). It is calling a spade a spade in an effort to let these guys know that such behavior will not be tolerated. Get with the program or get the hell out - and we dont care about your hurt feelings.

Could be very good leadership - you sometimes must alienate those who are not with the program in an effort to bring some cohesion to the program in the first place.

normally I'm not onboard with players throwing others under the bus, but the STL o-line has looked horrendous.

What I am curious about is WRs running the wrong routes. With Holt and Bruce and Bennet, veteran WRS, I would expect WR execution to be very low on the problem list.

It is calling a spade a spade
Marge Schott called a spade a spade and that didn't work out too well for her, hope Bulger enjoys more success.
I think that's a colloquialism that's out lived it's time.
It's from ancient Greek. Translated into English by Erasmus about four centuries before "spade" took on a racially derogatory meaning.
gay and *aggot are from different origins as well. Times and meanings change.

In my world, gay is happy and f@ggot is a bundle of twigs. I don't know what world you live in?In all seriousness, what if he is firing up his teammates to get them to play with passion. Who knows how his teammates are going to perceive this. IMO, though, its not good.

Well they can't exactly play much worse though can they?
