Buy/Sell now, planning for the FF playoffs (1 Viewer)

For the optomistic at heart...

Trade deadlines are probably a few weeks away in most leagues, and Strength of Schedule data has had almost half a season to iron out anomalies. Which players would you like to trade for based on their matchups in weeks 14 - 16? And who are you trying to get rid of for the same reason?

Here are mine, one each - QB, RB, WR

Buy:

Blake Bortles - two great matchups during the playoffs, and all 3 weeks could be high-scoring games.

Charcandrick West - excellent matchups, and some owners might not be convinced he is a viable starter yet. Buy before his value goes up even further.

TY Hilton - I'm betting Luck and the Colts will ramp it up for a huge finish.

Sell:

Matt Ryan - plays Carolina twice during the FF playoffs. No thanks. His value is low right now, so maybe wait until he has a big game against TB this Sunday.

Chris Johnson - simply because I think his recent success has him overvalued. Playoff matchups aren't great either.

Stefon Diggs *gasp* Cash in now for redraft leagues. Reasons: 1) Bridgewater, and 2) the fact that there isn't a single positive matchup left on the Vikings receiver SOS chart for the remainder of the season.

The league feels so fluid and murkey to me right now that it's hard for me to think that far ahead. Things quite literally change every week which is always the case but it feels even more drastic right now. I'm tradephobic this year as a result. And this is after trading 6 times last seasons. Things are happening... don't feel right.

(I was also scared off by a possible Charles trade the WEEK he went down. Felt like Neo in the Matrix after that one).

Good topic for discussion, always like looking at this stuff around this time of year.

re: Diggs SOS

It is pretty rough looking 4 of the next 5 weeks, but I don't think the three playoff weeks are in any way scarey.

Team (rank - FF PPG allowed to WRs)

8. @ CHI (6th)

9. STL (24th)

10. @ OAK (19th)

11. GB (27th)

12. @ ATL (30th)

13. SEA (32nd)

14. @ ARI (20th)

15. CHI (6th)

16. NYG (17th)

I love all Saints. Their schedule is ridiculous the rest of the year:

NYG

TN

@Wash

Bye

@Hou

Car (only tough matchup and it's at home)

and for playoffs....

@TB

Det

Jax

Cake schedule Not one potential bad weather game.

With both Dougie Martin and M Evans as bye week fillers on the team, one of them is gonna have to get moved for a playoff stretch QB that's more reliable than Eli...hoping to pull in Rivers

Hilton is not a WR1 and they are trying to force feed that with a really bad OL, marginal running game, and a banged up QB making bad decisions. Hilton is a viable PPR guy, but don't expect TDs.

You can't sell Matt Ryan for bag of finger nail clippings right now. Your best bet is to hold and keep him for insurance purposes for the (_insert name__) of a starter you are using instead.

Diggs, I agree with but do it now. I repeat, do it right now. It's not sustainable in that offense.

Love looking at that, and I think they can handle Carolina at home.

But which Saint to buy. I don't know. People seem down on Brees, that might be a good call.

I'm trying to buy A.Rodgers.

Perception is that the offense has been in a slump and no Jordy hurts him...also he's got two bad matchups right now so his owner will be nervous....but we know how this movie ends come playoff time.

How many of these players are you guys confident in STARTING during the playoffs when everything is on the line?

CJ Spiller rises from the dead and becomes a solid RB2 in PPR. Buy low,

Carlos Hyde schedule for the playoffs I'd a joke and you can get him for peanuts right now
I got him and Anquan for Tyrod. Guy offered it to me. Had QB depth so sure why not.
yeah I just got him as my RB3. As long as he can stay healthy until then I would have no problem starting him vs CLE & DET in weeks 14 & 16. Even Cincy is a good matchup but they would probably get blown out in that game.

Sold: James Jones. Production cannot continue with so few targets. Lacy and Cobb will start getting theirs and Jones will go back down to WR3 production.

Bought: Hilton. Going to be a beast down the stretch.

Is this pseudo stress fracture going away though? If they are 3-9 heading in to the last 4 games would they even bother running an injured rb out there?

Ingram- last six games are all against bottom 10 run defenses. Add that to the usual late-NFL-season emphasis on the running game... he should have a nice playoffs performance.

@Hou

CAR

@TB

DET

JAX

ATL

People are scared off because of Khiry but I think his TDs have been flukes. Generally Khiry doesn't get the ball more than 5-7 times sporadically throughout the game. Several just happened to be goal-line touches. The Saints know who butters the bread and I think Ingram will be force fed like he was mid-season last year.

wouldn't call it a fluke, he's running pretty well at the goal line and i think payton is happy to give it to him in the red zone to keep ingram running for the full season. i'm all in on saints with brees/ingram/snead starting for me every week since week 4, i'm okay with khiry getting those if it means ingram is on the field for the entire year.

Looking at owners who have lost Bell and Forte, now would be a damn good time to sell.

Just some notes:

- I think Julio has bracketed FF playoff games with Carolina in weeks 14 and 16. I want no part of those.

- Beckham also has week 15 vs Carolina. Again no thanks.

This might be overthinking things but I'd rather go for premium matchups and not chance that these excellent players will find themselves in the Carolina molasses.

The best WR schedule I can see is the Saints, @TB then vs DEt and vs Jax. Of course you never who will be getting what there in terms of targets.

I was hoping to trade for C. West after the DEN game but his dominant performance makes that much less likely now :kicksrock:

Mike Evans has a glorious playoff schedule.
too hard to buy though.

I would love to get him in the league I don't have him in.

But thinking of what it would take for me to sell him in another...guy is just now giving his owners value for where they drafted him and is looking huge...plus that schedule.

Looks like the cost would be crazy high to buy at this point.

i was able to get him last week as a temp bye week/injury filler. Where do you see him the rest of the way? I like him as well but will find it hard to start him over Amari and Hilton.

Evans as a bye week filler? He's a top 10 WR.

I love Amari and Oak schedule is getting good. They do play Denver in week 14. Crabtree has been getting a lot of targets.

Hilton with Hass feels like a low WR2.

Like to see many names in this thread on my roster.

I made major moves at the trade deadline last year and F'd up a 12-0 team (sorta - but getting DeMarco wasn't all that). So pumping the breaks a bit.

12 team redraft, non PPR, 6 point TD league. Pretty happy with roster and schedule the rest of the way other than Julio's match-ups with Norman/Carolina. Who am I gonna get though?

Brees

Bortles (keep telling myself no matter how juicy the matchup I'll never bench Brees. NO has all dome games except for 1 outside game in December is at TB. So playing Bortles this Thurs only)

Lynch

Ingram

West

R. Mathews (concerned with concussion but may never play him again with byes gone)

Julio

Mike Evans

T.Y. Hilton

Davante Adams (can start all 4 with flex)

Snead (likely won't play again, will now avoid being too Saint heavy the rest of the way)

Jets D

Vinatieri (got him back - I've been wrong on kickers all year).

Have 2 open spots. Going for depth at RB and a DEF for playoffs as Jets play Patriots in the SB. But other than that I think this year I'm not going to do crazy trades. Don't know who to shoot for or where to better myself

What up Smalls..you are all set.

Ajayi makes the perfect stash if you can get him for cheap. His YPC is jumping off the screen in 2 games thus far, and Mia schedule quoted a few posts up speaks for itself. Do it.
