He reminds me of Tiki a bit more than Westbrook as far as game and what not.

Here's a funny little blurb about Harrison, from Harrison mostly.

Aug 20 Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Harrison, who has had a strong training camp, believes he is the best running back of the 2006 draft class, which includes New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush. "You put in the film of the best running back, and then put in my film, and I think you'll all have the same judgment I have," Harrison said.

He's got quite a healthy attitude eh?

He's definitely out there. He's from my area and in high school he once intentionally fumbled a kickoff and fell on it at his own five to pad his rushing stats. Sure enough, his next carry was a 95-yard touchdown.

haha, he must make coaches nervous.

I sure hope he is not expecting the Brown's o-line to open up holes like that. You could drive a truck through holes that big.

Pac 10 defense equal HORRIBLE. He's now in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL when it comes to D. There will be a big difference when you see him go against the first string as opposed to some guys that will be bagging groceries next week.

from what i saw the other night, the kid can catch the ball really well.

i'm guessing Kevin Faulk territory. can do some nice things to help the team, could probably start a few games if needed, but will never be the #1.

glad they grabbed him.

Can we please get the names of the people who voted him the next Tiki/Westbrook.

YouTube hype strikes again.

No William Green option?

So, I guess the thinking is they could pass on AP because Harrison is that good?

or

they are drafting AP and signed Jamal as insurance because Harrison is no good?

Look at the post dates. All comments except the one above your's are based on Harrison's college and preseason from 06...It could be an "I told you so" if the guy didn't register something like yesterday...

Is there news on Harrison that has changed his value? He still hasn't got much opportunity.

I am holding, for now.

You never know. Talent + Opportunity.....

Kid needs some help! He was hit in the backfield when he actually got carries last year.

My roster requirements are helping me rationalize keeping him as well.

I remember Tiki and Westbrook having crappy years at the beginning of their careers.

You never know! but are you patient enough/able to wait?

I'm holding too, but he didn't do anything with his limited chances during the regular season. I'll be watching him this preseason to determine how far up he is on my "I need to cut someone" list.

Kevin Faulk or Travis Minor for both answers. I know people said Tiki and Westbrook were not every down backs, but really, Harrison is not an every down back.

We'll find out what the Browns think of him if they take Peterson. If they take a QB then it says a lot about what they think of Harrison since I doubt they think Lewis is the future.

I think we've already seen what the Browns think of him. He should've seen the field much more than he did at the end of last season.

Whether they take Peterson or someone else, the existence of Harrison will not be a major consideration. There are other opportunities to obtain RBs this year or next if they don't take Peterson. Harrison will always be a fringe player in CLE.

While I agree with you, it's tough to write him off considering what has happened with guys like Westbrook and Barber. Had Buckhalter not been injured and Dayne a bust we could be looking at Westbrook and Barber like we do Faulk. Neither the Eagles nor the Giants saw Westbrook and Barber as franchise backs. The Eagles seemed to have a little more faith in Westbrook (I think they drafted him as a complement to Buckhalter, not to be the main guy) since they didn't draft a RB after him but the Giants went out and drafted what they thought was a franchise back after 3 seasons of having Barber.

I see this was never re-visited post-draft. So now that the only guy that is definitely in front of Harrison is Lewis - is that a vote of confidence from the personnel guys? With a likely better OL than last year, will Harrison get better shots to show what he can do? It was probably very difficult for anyone to run behind that line last year. Do most still think he maxes out as a 3rd down/COP type?

Couple things bother me about this.

1. All I ever here is 3rd down back yet hes 5'9 200

I dont see why adding 5-10 lbs wont suffice.

2. Romeo seems to be the one holding him back. Romeo has wanted a bruiser since hes been the HC there. I understand the division is tough but give the guy a shot. Jason Wright I think go a shot because of his size to be honest.

Did I miss Jerome getting a shot? The Browns fans were going nuts over this guy last year.

He looked great during preseason, not so much after. On top of that, CLE also seems to not trust him at all. It was pretty clear Droughns last year was backed up by Wright, and Harrison didn't even get an opp. there. I see no reason that will change with J.Lewis there this year. I like the kid, but :goodposting: , I don't see it happening.

He'll get his opps during the preseason. If he has another good outing, as an owner, hopefully he'll get some chance.
