C Wells Vs. J Stewart (1 Viewer)

I really like both of these RB's. Last year, I had Stewart as the best Running back in the draft. I took him in the 8th round expecting big things, but he didnt crack my starting lineup one time. Instead Chris Johnson, who I took later was in my lineup every week. Go figure.

This year, I have Wells as my favorite rookie running back. Yes, ahead of Brown and Moreno. I know it's not the general consensus but it's just an opinion.

Now, if we can put aside both of these guys two biggest negatives noted below, then who do you think is the better talent with a brighter future?

Please try to disregard, Stewarts injuries and his playing behind DWill.

Please try to disregard, Wells injuriy nags and his apparent lack of fire.

Just looking at talent, who is going to have the brighter career if the stars align correctly?

I realize some of you simply won't want to project past each players' major concerns, but if you can, please try.

Very interesting comparison. Personally i have a very hard time picking between these 2 guys. I guess if I have to choose I would take Wells by a small margin.

They both need to prove that they can stay healthy.

I think Stewart is the better talent. If he can stay healthy I think he can be one of the top 4-5 runners in the league.

Wells is the better redraft option.

I feel the same way. On pure talent, Stewart is a potential top 5 RB. Out of the 2, in a keeper league, I'd give Stewart the edge. In a redraft, I might go with Wells.

I prefer Stewart because he has proven he can catch and thus I feel he's a more complete back.
Huh? :blackdot: Stewart has only 8 receptions last year. How exactly did he prove he could catch?
Yeah, I hear you. Only 8 in the NFL. He just looks like a natural pass catcher when he does it. Of course there were his college years. Not world class, but decent enough. Not saying that Beanie can't catch--but I'd like to see him do it before I judge whether he can. He didn't really catch a lot in college. Whether that's because of his ability, or some other factor I could not say.

wells has the physical tools with ok talent, stewart has both with an injury problem and deangelo in front of him. stewart > wells

dynasty - Stewartredraft and keeper- WellsStewart may not even be the guy next year. 2011 is too long to wait in keeper IMO

fact: unless deangelo dies, stewart will never be the guy in carolina.

Stewart has better speed, quickness, agility. And although they are both strong, Stewart runs harder and with more authority. Easy choice for me.

Very close for me. I may lean Stewart, though I don't think people are giving Wells nearly enough respect. Guy has the talent to be a top 5 RB.

Wells is a better runner but Stewart is very good receiver and we dont know what kind of hands Beanie has. For fantasy purposes, its safer to bet on the RB with receiving skills. In a PPR league its not close. In a non-PPR it is close.

Wells is in a better situation obviously. At some point, Arizona's run blocking is going to improve and then Wells could be a huge success. Stewart not only has a great RB in front of him, but plays for a coaching staff that likes to alternate backs and doesnt like to throw to them.
